I've been using Toast for like 10 years, and it is without a doubt the best, most reliable burning program for the mac!

Currently using version 11 (which I picked up discounted here on MacUpdate last year) on a late 2013 MacBook Pro running Mavericks and burning via an external burner. It is perfect.

The video/audio conversion options are really good and reliable too.

Absolutely essential for all Mac owners. Highly recommended.

I have been burning discs and after I did some researches to this one, I feel more like it now and surely this is a reliable app.

The interface of version 11 might be less intimidating for a newbie but it is not as easy and intuitive to use as version 10 if you are familiar with Toasts features. I even prefer the interface of version 8 or 9 over the latest incarnation.

Feature wise there is not much to complain. Version 11 burns CDs/DVDs just as reliably as any previous version and can pretty much burn any format under the sun like 'custom hybrid' CDs/DVDs, DVD-ROM (UDF), ISO 9660, Photo Disc, Super Video CD etc. In fact Toast has so many formats and options that it is understandable that there is a strong desire to make the interface as easy as possible but version 11 just doesn't feel like a mac app anymore. Hopefully the next version will hit the sweet spot.

I don't see any difference between 11.1 and 11.2. Both work well in Mavericks. While installing 11.2, I was asked if Toast could have permission to access my contacts - not sure why it would want that, but I denied the request and Toast still works fine.

For the moment I'm not installing this update to Toast. For one thing, the installer isn't signed. I would expect a company like Roxio to at the very least have a Developer account for signing installers and software.

In addition, I can't see any mention of 11.2 when I try to find updates to Toast 11 on Roxio's website. So far, 11.1 is the latest version mentioned.

While I don't have the impression that Roxio is an impeccably run organisation, I'd at the very least expect those two things from them.

Toast was a killer app, a must have back in the day. It lost focus though, was sold and bought twice, wandered around focused on some useless features nobody really wanted and got bloated while remaining expensive. This app should cost $20 now and be focused on doing one or 2 things and doing them well.

Aside from the occasional compare folders / disks I haven't missed you in years. RIP Toast!

This Brand New version, 11.2, seems to be working much better than the last (Which was slow starting and crashed a lot). This version is much faster starting and seems to burn well (so far).

WTF: Download yields 11.1 and their website yields 11.1:
http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/toast/software_updatesv11.html
but if you go to the Roxio Toast support page it says version 11.2 at:
http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/toast/version_history11.html
it talks about version 11.2.

C'mon Roxio and MacUpdate.

Got it by going to Download.com, installed, and is now version 11.2. So it must be that MacUpdate has the wrong download link. Seems to happen every now and then on MacUpdate.

Download yielded 11.2 after instillation. If you already have toast in another folder inside your applications folder it'll still be there. The new toast folder which contains 11.2 is put into your applications folder. Just delete your old version and start using the new version. I find that it is working great.

Re my previous regarding Toast 11.1 on Mavericks: I discovered the solution --- I was installing the latest update of Toast 11. When I went back and installed from the original download version that I purchased, and went through the Register module, then everything was fine.

I don't understand why -- it just happened that way. "All's well that ends well."

Auto update doesn't recognized it and when you download the update it says it's from an unidentified developer? Perhaps I will skip this until the program recognizes it.

Yes, honlisu, this is just an updater. You'll see the word "Updater" a the end of the short description, just under the title of the app; and next to "License:" in the Information panel, just to the right of the Reviews and Comments.

Figured out that where are several download options here on this site and found one that's not an upgrade but full program. Problem solved.
Would be nice if that was clearly indicated. After paying you are directed to a page where it's a upgrade that won't install.

I just downloaded the version 11.1 update and it will not complete the update. The "Finish" button remains grayed out at the Toast It and Mount It screen. If I de-select them, it still stays grayed out. Toast will never run unless that problem is rectified. I even tried re-installing the original 11.0.0 version and trying to update that with the same result. By the way, version 11.0.0 installed without a hitch and ran great. Roxio needs to fix this problem.

why doesn't roxio own updating mechanism doesn't detect newer versions of Toast? The Toast self updating has NEVER worked! Come on Roxio, what's the problem? Don't you test this Toast self updating routine on a Mac yourselves?
