The key word is disappointment. Toast Titanium 20 will not burn some of my Camera Raw Files, although V. 18 will, with no problem. I up dated to v.20, but fortunately kept 18 on my desktop Mac running OS 10.14.6 (Mojave). The old interface was convenient and efficient for me. It also worked well with Disk Catalogue maker. The new interface is just an extra step. I burn mostly photographic image files and backup documents.

Attention, Toast Titanium v20.1 is unfortunately a completely immature program, it does not run under Big Sur or Monterey. Buying Toast Titanium was a waste of money and despite complaints, no one from support contacted us and we can only strongly advise against this program!

I had half of my Burns failing with Toast 18 & 19... losing half burned discs left & right until I trashed it for good! There are many Pro burner Apps out there and Toast is not one of them, even the “Pro Version.” It is sinful that Roxio keeps peddling this crap to its unsuspecting customers! And Support from Roxio? PSHAW! forget about it!

Attention MacUpdate: Version 20.1 has been released. It's available through the in-app updater. I'm not sure if it's a separate download yet. So, this is just a heads up.

Could someone post a link here for the 19.5 release notes? I've tried to search out the release notes a few times, and aren't able to find them. The Sparkle window came up, but i clicked install too fast before I could read what was changed/ added. I have toast 20 on my iMac, and toast 19 on my older MBP, that's how I know there was an update from 19.4. If someone could post a link to the release notes, would be much appreciated: Thanks

Total disaster when going from version 17 to 20 as per the audio burning device. Impossible to use since it ask to lock what you wish to burn, in my case my audio cd. i was never as before to lock. Plus I need to do it manually since drag and drop is not available. A total disaster. Since the locking is impossible because it never agrees with the password, I was not able to burn anything. Plus as opposed to before, when filling the window I am told that with 15 tracks my disk is only 30% full when under version 17 I would be 96% full. A shame

I upgraded to Toast 20 Pro today. Usually, I only purchase a toast upgrade every couple years since I haven't used it all that often these days. I decided to upgrade because I've upgraded to Monterey, and version 19 was at end of support, and I wouldn't have gotten any future updates even though it was working without issues. Anyway, Toast 20 fixes some things with Blu-ray video, and since that's my main reason for keeping toast around, it made sense to update for that, and now I'll get updates during this cycle as they come out. I usually pay around $99 USD for my upgrades, today, I came to the site when they were offering an additional 10 % discount for a limited time frame. So I got toast 20 Pro for $80. As far as any visual differences, there aren't any. I will say, that once I cleaned out my toast 19 install, and clean installed the Toast 20 upgrade, it actually loads slightly faster. My thoughts on the additional bundled software: I don't use it, but in order to get the features I do want and need, I need the Pro package. Either way I've generally had a good experience with Toast through the years, off and on that I've used it. Since I'll be needing a new computer in a couple more years, this might be a good time to look into switching to windows so I can have access to the commercial, and professional authoring tools that I would like to learn. It seems like more and more Apple is no longer a pro oriented platform, or at least it's changed enough that the term just doesn't mean what it used to in the old Apple community I grew up in.

I had the complete expensive program--Toast Platinum. All the bells and whistles. For $119 I got about 22 months of use from it. When I updated my operating system it ceased working. It was, theoretically, a 64bit program. Even when it was new and running with the High Sierra operating system, it never worked well and some functions always crashed. Roxio/Corel did not support it in any way. Their customer service is dreck. I feel I was ripped off and would NEVER buy another product from Roxio or Corel and would not recommend either company.

WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE --------------- I bought the 19 Pro update from v 17 - I was told by Corel customer support that this update would fix the problem of not mounting disk images created in Toast (.Sd2f files). WARNING: It does not! .Sd2f disk images do not mount using Toast 19 Pro version I was told by customer support to install a new operating system and install this new version. I did so. STILL DOES NOT MOUNT DISK IMAGES CREATED BY TOAST (.Sd2f files) I have owned a copy of Toast for many years, many versions. Since Corel bought the company, Toast has not been developed or supported well. The customer support is terrible and their only advice is to re-install your Operating system and then install their software. Even so, this does not work.

Having used Toast 19 Pro for a few days now, I thought I would share some thoughts on experience. I was going to leave a star rating, however there doesn't seem to be an option for it, simply a comment option. Anyway I own a license for Toast 6, 8, 11, 17, and 19. Toast 17, and 19 are both pro licenses. I started using Toast 6 when I had my blue and white G3, and it was a good reliable burning solution back in the days when Apple was picky about what third party drives their native burning supported. Since then: I've upgraded to new releases every few years to see what's new, and to have a current copy around. I will skip my experience with 8, and 11 because that was too long ago to be relevant for today. I'll focus on 17, and 19 here. I bought 17 when Mojave was the current OS. Overall it worked and didn't have that many problems. The UI was pretty clean and worked well, too. Fast forward to a couple days ago when I purchased 19 pro. I wanted to see how it was performing under Big Sur as the current OS. I have to say looking back, over my older version of toast and running them in various macOS VMs to test performance: Toast 19 really has the most polished UI for the most current release of Toast, and macOS. With the exception of toast 8, and 11 (6 isn't even an option here.) 17 has weird graphical glitches on some of it's menus, especially on older version of macOS prior to Mojave, and Catalina. 17 can also be somewhat slow to load on certain operating systems while 19 loads reasonably fast. All the tasks I would normally perform work in all current version I've used, but I would say when it comes to authoring, and burning, and a nice overall UI I think the latest version of 19 is the cleanest and most optimized compared to older. I would still like some professional options for disc authoring for the Mac, but toast has worked well. for personal use. The Pro stuff would be more for if I was doing more for other people I would like to be able to tell them it was professionally done, especially since I have education, and some experience with pro production. From what I have found out though from talking to others who do professional work in media, a lot of tools (depending type of work) are now on PC only, which is fine as long as switching to windows, or even Linux would give me a better advantage over the Mac these days.

I'm considering buying Toast 19, I know there are quite a few people here who have reported issues of various types. However, I've never had many issues with the toast app itself. I've had issues with the mount it plugin, but that's not crucial to my needs, and since the developers of Burn app never got back to me when I asked if They could add Blu-ray video support. I don't see any other options but toast for this function. If anyone has any other suggestions. I'm open to hear them though.

I return to the Toast update page after having ragged on Corel / Roxio for ripping me and others off by distributing version 19 without fully beta testing (maybe w/o even alpha testing). I still think very poorly of Roxio for exploiting Mac optical disk users, but . . . version 19.4 actually launches! I mean it doesn't hang, it doesn't just revert to the Finder - it actually finished launching. I have not used it for burning, but all the menus seem to work now. Maybe it's actually ready to be sold and used by . . . end users. To be continued . . .

Just spent 2 hours with a rep who was very good but finally had to agree with me, Toast 18 has a bug in it. He said he will send a report to the engineers to see if they can fix it. The edit button crashes the program %100 of the time. Beware.

Got v 19, and though it works, it doesn't. It doesn't recognize a writable DVD disc when I try to burn it. I will if I switch to Classic version, but I paid for the whole new version. So far their support is ridiculous. Every week or so I get an email asking me to provide the same information I already provided and telling me they're working on the problem. If everything it's supposed to do worked (as older versions did) it would be a five. Now it's a 1. Look elsewhere.
