Was the best software around but the Administrators killed it. They put a crazy lunatic in charge who started banning people for no reason and made it impossible to renew the subscriptions! Crazy. There would be enough here to file a massive lawsuit if it was not for the fact that people have muck better things to do

Worst customer service ever. After several years using I was banned for no reason, customer service is pure disdain. I've lost some friends worldwide there but never coming back.

I totally agree with you! After more than 10 years of being a loyal paying customer, I got banned for good by a so called Monitor that treated me just a step away like I was a criminal. You are so right about them being on a power trip . They treat you like you are a child and in a way that makes you feel like you are really committing a serious crime. I do understand they have rules but come on! It’s an adult chat service. Even after trying to. “Apologize “ in an educated way, this idiot would not even let me explain. Even though it seems it was the programs fault and not entirely mine. Furthermore they are quick to accept your money but the service is really lousy

AWFUL experience, stay FAR away from this dated and overpriced garbage software. There are much better alternatives out there, Skype for one! Paid and was subsequently banned for no good reason. No refund given. Moderators are on a power trip and actually view your private webcam messages. Wow, just WOW! If you have concerns about your privacy, do not touch this software with a 10ft pole. Read the fine print about their data storage. You have been warned.

This software is nicely done, but what is truly a disappointment is the way the communities are set up. After getting used to Yahoo! and Google, participating in iSpQ communities is a huge letdown. End users have the ability of create their own special "rooms", but these exist only as a long as you are online. So communities cannot actually thrive continually, as "My Room" revolves around you, not your specific interest. Let's face it: iSpQ is software for men who want to view naked women, and for women who want peddle their bodies online. The rest of the end users are banished to "Clean Chat" for conversations that fall along the lines of "hi", "show me your " or otherwise similar come-ons. The other channels on iSpQ are all but deserted (what the hell is a "Ruby" room anyway?) In the end, iSpQ is really supposed to be about like minded-people getting together. To that end, the software succeeds if its aim is to attract the lowest tier of Internet culture. The rest of us who have more interesting things to say (or even show on webcam) go to the more popular online communities, even if video isn't supported.

I think it was unwise to do away with the negative ratings. I realize that many may have been misusing that option, but some members who never seem to read profile comments really need the negative ratings. I used them very rarely but when I did it was called for. Also, I'm on a Power Mac running 10.4.2 and when I am chatting with friends and hit the reply button to send qms the next reply window has drifted across the page . I am constantely having to reposition the reply window or the send button will be off the screen. I hope you can work on keeping the reply window stationary.

iSpQ is the best video chat program on the market today! It combines ease of use with the highest quality audio and video experience in addition to helpful and knowledgeable support staff.

Does'nt work so great for me. I thoroughly tested & debugged my connection using the included diagnostic tool (nice). No audio no matter what I do with it... ...anybody??? Tried the Yahoo messenger client - very flaky crashy app - also no audio... does it need classic installed - who cares can't be bothered playing crash test dummy. Tested iChat with a Windows inflicted friend using Windows AIM client & it works well without having to know anything.

If it helps anyone. I think ports 2000, 2001, and 2002 have to be open for ISPQ to work properly. I've used it for a couple yrs both under classic and OSX without problems.

Whoa. I can't believe the negativity over this wonderful app. One can't really knock a chat app too much. After all, your functionality is limited to chat, right? That being said, I bought version 5 back in OS9 days. It worked fine on a dial-up connection. Using an IOXperts driver, it works equally well in OSX. I am able to manage my pal list, send QMs, and chat with buddies just fine. It works much better--and cheaper--than iChat/iSight in this regard. One sore spot I have is with live video chatting. iSPQ reports that I am behind a firewall--which is hardwired into my Westell DSL modem/router--so I cannot connect to other users. To its credit, the installer wizard let me know of this before I ever tried to connect. I do hope that this latest version will fix this for me. I'll install it later today.

Same. Trying 6.0 and looks better thatn prev versions. But can't get videochat working and can't find anything on how to handle firewall if you need 2. To bad because it looks like it could be good and cross platform. The quickmessage is going but don't see me using it after a few times. I

I've used iSpQ, ICUII, iVisit, CuSeeMe, iChat AV.. you name it. I remember when it was between ICUII and iSpQ, and it looked like iSpQ was a cheap rip-off of ICUII. Then.. ICUII dropped Mac support. That was some 3-4 years ago, and they haven't been back since. In that time, iSpQ has really surpassed anything ICUII could've ever dreamed of, and I'm happy to see they've now got the Mac version on full par with the Windows version. iSpQ 6.0 really is a totally different ballgame from past versions. I've been beta testing this for the last 4-5 months now, and I'm glad they've finally got all the bugs worked out. Now they support full video and audio chat with up to 4 different people at a time, Quick Messages (ispq's version of IM'ing people) with Audio, Video, and full-color text/font styling support, directory chat, directory listings, and apparently (though I've not had a chance to test it) their "MyPlace" feature is working, too. I just wish this program would get adopted by more people, cause it really is a great app/community. But, the price tag tends to scare people away, I guess.

I've NEVER had any luck with this thing! Very, VERY vague support, no manual, doesn't seem to support iMic, Macally USB mic, or my regular Mac mic. When I tried to get help (repeatedly) I was sent a link to an annoying newsletter. Had to manually configure my router (this I kind of understand but you don't have to in iVisit). I bought this thing and for the $ I spent there should be a little more support. The one time I did get a support email in response to me asking how to configure my router properly (after the directions on their site didn't work) the email said exactly what the site said, WORD FOR WORD) Stay away!!!
