When I woke up my iMac, VirusBarrier Scanner wasn't responding, so after about 10 minutes, I force-quit it. After 3 attempts to launch it, I trashed it and have just downloaded it again from the App Store, hoping that this time it will work. But it won't download! I have clicked on the download "Cloud" 5 times. It goes around and then the cloud appears again and again. No sign of it in my Applications folder. The previous version worked much better!

I really liked it for quite a bit of time. It caught some malware that MalwareBytes and Norton didn't. But recently it won't download the virus definition updates and stalls out when scanning.

Clean and lightweight, VirusBarrier Scanner uses the same engine and signatures from the commercial product. However, as stated in its App Store sheet, it does only work on-deman -- which for me is more than sufficient and all that I need. Last update from November 9 (1.0.1.347) is totally broken, it even won't start scanning. I wonder what were the issues "fixed" with this version as with the previous version I haven't had any issues. OS: 10.13.1 Note: I will update my rating once they `fix` it.
