iOS device management.

Overview

iMazing Mini is the free version of iMazing which backs up your iOS devices automatically, wirelessly, and privately. We designed iMazing Mini to be a perfect companion to iMazing, and a nifty little standalone tool too.

Features
  • Your iOS Time Machine:
    • Unique: the only iOS backup solution to offer 'Time Machine' like snapshots of your devices.
    • Optimized: store dozens of backups without crowding your hard drive.
    • Restorable: go back in time and restore any specific version of your backup.
    • Browsable: your backed up data can be easily viewed in iMazing
    • 100% Free: no ads, no paid cloud storage.
  • Scheduled Backups:
    • Configure when and how frequently each of your devices is backed up: daily, weekly...
    • Choose how many of your backups iMazing Mini should keep: a month worth or just a week, or all of them if you're a hoarder.
    • Be notified when you're behind schedule: iMazing Mini will remind you so that you're always up to date.
  • Wireless and Secure
    • Convenient: don't think about it, your iPhone is backed up even if it stays in your bag or pocket.
    • End-to-end encryption: your data is safe when transferred via your local Wi-Fi network (SSL).
    • Private: stored on the hard drive or NAS of your choice, your data does not transit via Internet.
    • Backup encryption: Apple's super secure backup encryption format is fully supported and encouraged (AES-256).
  • Extras
    • Battery health tool: monitor your battery's charge level and advanced metrics.
    • Low battery notification: configure a threshold below which iMazing Mini will remind you to charge your device.
    • Advanced device info: easy access to UDID, Serial, IMEI, Chip Model and more...
    • Sleep, Shut-Down, Restart of connected devices (works via Wi-Fi too).

Why can’t it do it’s job without iTunes being involved? Since my iTunes backups are encrypted with an unknown password, I can’t use it. Now Mini wants to use iTunes backups. preventing me from using it also. I thought I had found a way to backup my iPhone to my computer, but no.

My iPhone is unfortunately not recognised. The app (version 2.6.4) shows 2 iPhones, while I only have one (?...). And none with the correct level of free space (about 40 Gb vs 10 Gb).

(Did not try to back-up as it states there is an issue with the Wi-Fi and a USB cable has to be used).

It would be great to work this out as the concept looks quite promising.

I would also like to see the current battery percentage.

Just installed and backed up iPhone 6S (64GB) - took approx 4 mins to backup contents, another 1-2 mins to verify and archive the backup. Initial backup required connection by USB cable (I suspect for speed of intial transfer); all subsequent backups will be wirelessly while both MB Air and iPhone on same network. One option to encrypt my backups have cascading impacts on all future use of the iPhone. The following warning was provided: "Warning: this setting will activate encryption of all future backups of <phone name> to any computer, regardless of the software used to backup (iTunes, iMazing, other…) Make sure you keep a safe copy of your password somewhere: password loss is not recoverable and will permanently lock you out of your data." seems a tad excessive to me when various data are to be saved - I can understand when passwords etc are backed up, not not other data such as battery health. perhaps useful to finesse this aspect of the software - allow me to decide whether or not to backup my passwords (I probably wouldn't) so no need for the heavy handed encryption with flow-on effects useful but in light of the above feature, won't be using the software - YMMV. 4 stars for app that does exactly what it says, easy to use, nice clean GUI, but -1 star for heavy handed encryption with no finer resolution of what to backup or not.

Hi Eric,

Encryption is device side, it's an iOS feature. There simply is NO way to back up health data without enabling encryption iOS side, and that implies that all future backups will be encrypted, iTunes backups included.

We wish we could provide more granularity, but to be honest, Apple's approach is very safe and meant to protect your privacy.

Hi,

The backup encryption password is set on the device. Once set, there is no way to back up a device without the backup being encrypted - it's simply how iOS works.

You can reset your backup password, but Apple designed it to be secure: you'll have to back up to iCloud, wipe the phone, and restore the iCloud backup to be able to back up again with a new password.
