Game graphics are cool on my 17inch powerbook, but does not play smooth, even at lowest settings, overall a bad port. Maybe the update will help, but if it doesn't I would say this game isn't even worth the $10 I paid for it.

if you have a legal copy of the game, i.e., the CD, then you have the registration number, look on the CD package for the registration number.

if you do not have a legal copy, then you are out of luck.

The OEM version that came with some iMacs and eMacs will not work with the updated main application. It complains the serial number is not valid. Apple's version of the install and game discs do not supply a serial number.

I have only played the first edition before so THPS4 seemed a vast improvement to me. It has however serious issues on the mac and has disbabled my numbers key pad which makes life very frustrating.

I can get past the occasional slowing down to a crawl pace of the game. I'm having problems with whatever grab trick I put in the diagonal down spot simply won't perform. I can't finish the game with out that slot performing accurately.

As others have noted, the demo runs so poorly (performance issues) that I decided not to bother buying the full version as a result. My son, who plays the most and has beat THPS3, took one look at it and agreed.

The retail version of the game breaks after every format/restore of a system.

It says 'serial number invalid' (although it is valid) and you have to reinstall the entire game again which takes _very_ long!

The installer is complete crap (far too slow) and having to reinstall again and again results in the game collecting dust on the shelf due to not using it anymore!

_If_ it works (works only on G4s), it is quite nice.

Graphics/sound are ok, speed is fine (on G4 1GHz).

Playability is average due to clumsy default controls (num keypad - duh!).

Stability is crap, because of the reinstall-all-over-again bogus.

Conclusion: If you plan to install and never change your system again it is ok. If you do frequent reformat/restores run away fast!
