The pervious version, 1.5, is much better. 1.7.4 sucks.

Finally, a window manager that can do a key combo + drag to move/resize. Nearly all window managers up until now (except BetterTouchTool) do only resize-by-key combos. I really miss Zooom 2 (now defunct) and this one has the potential to be a full replacement. The only thing that I would like to see implemented is an ability to resize from all four corners with a key combo + drag. I'm going to purchase a license just to support this developer. As for Spectacle being free, I hate it when people make such a rash judgment and complain about paying for $10. I've made that mistake myself. Remember, behind every Mac app, there are developers (= humans) investing a tremendous amount of effort to make our platform better. $10 is really a bargain when I consider the amount of workflow friction it can remove.

Why use this when Spectacle is awesome and free?

Disappointed ... Can't seem to run the trial version Despite the application telling me I have 7 days remaining in my trial, I'm not able to by-pass the "Buy Now" screen or activate any of the menubar snap options. I very much like the idea of snapping windows to one side in 1/3 window increments. Exactly what I've been wanting. Be great to be able to try it out!

I'm giving MaxSnap 5 stars simply because of the ability to press a key combo and have your next mouse movement move or resize a window, even a background window, without making it foreground. No need to click, or to use the Title bar (for the move) or the edges or corners (for the resize). This is a game changer for me. For now, I use Moom alongside MaxSnap but only as Moom has no prescribed window positions but allows custom ones instead. I know the MaxSnap dev is thinking about also offering custom size/locations too and it already offers many predefined ones that would likely suit most, me too if I weren't so used to Moom's custom option. I purchased the Beta and so got a big discount. I found this app via Command-Tab Plus (same dev, I also use that app ^_^) PS: Dev is responsive too.
