Optimage overview
Optimage is an advanced image-optimization tool to minimize images in a visually lossless way for websites, apps, storage, and sharing. It uses advanced metrics to automatically adjust image quality for up to 10x smaller image files that are visually perceived as originals. Maximum compression ratio is achieved by exhaustively trying various compression parameters and image-data structures, using novel and traditional heuristics. Simple native GUI and universal CLI clients are built to work efficiently across many different platforms on desktops and servers.

Version: 3.4.3
As the webmaster of a photography site, where image quality is as critical as file size, I've f ound that Optimage does better size reduction and better compression than anything else I've tried. The quality of the output, compared to the original, is virtually identical.

After having tested so many image size optimizers Optimage is my absolute winner – so happy for finding it! It's the resulting image quality, speed and design in combination – dear developers, thank you so much for this outstanding software!

I don't know about the former versions but this one excels in optimizing the size of jpegs... to zero! :-o
I've just tried it with one jpeg of mine (exported from Photoshop or Graphic Converter, so nothing strange) and it says "100%" optimization with the resulting file being O byte... :-(
Even supposing this is a temporary bug, I think it's not a good idea to replace the original without offering the choice in the prefs to keep it intact and save a modified copy near to it.

I've tested a LOT of image optimization tools on my large collection of comics totaling 550 GB (412k pages). Most optimization tools are just wrappers around open-source libraries such as PNGCrush, PNGOUT, AdvPNG, etc. ImageOptim is one such tool, and it's very useful.
What Optimage brings to the party is a proprietary PNG compression algorithm which consistently gives me 10-20% more compression (losslessly) compared to the suite of open-source tools I already use. That's a very impressive feat. While 10% might not seem like much, that's roughly 55GB in my current comic collection.
Optimage does have some bugs in the UI, but the developer has been very responsive and rolled out 3 new releases within a couple weeks with my feedback.

The original and long-time favorite ImageOptim app (available for free) is used by many pro photographers and web designers. This appears to be somewhat of a knock-off with a similar title.
