Email client for Apple devices.

Overview

Spark gives time back to all those who live by their inbox by helping to quickly see what is important and clean up the rest.

Features:
  • Smart Inbox intelligently bubbles what matters to the top and lets you quickly see what's important in your inbox and clean up the rest.
  • All new emails are smartly categorized into Personal, Notifications and Newsletters.
  • Powerful, natural language search makes it easy to find that email you're looking for. Just search the way you think and let Spark do the rest.
  • Smart Notifications filter out the noise, letting you know when an email is important, saving you from notification overload.
  • Your calendar invites have their own, beautiful card with one-tap accept. See if you want to accept it right from your email.
  • Before you send an email, quickly swipe to choose the right signature for the occasion.
  • Quick Replies get the point across with just a tap. Love, like or acknowledge an email in an instant.
  • That terrible "forward" and quote mess in your inbox is now replaced it with a beautiful, threaded message design.
  • Snooze an email and get back to it when the time is right. Snoozing works across all your Apple devices.
  • Integrate Spark into your workflow and take productivity to the next level. Supports Dropbox, Box, iCloud Drive, Evernote and more.
  • Customize Spark to work as you do. You decide which swipes do what, what cards are shown, and how many emails you want to see.
  • Teach Spark about that newsletter you just can't miss, and you'll get a notification every time it arrives. Spark learns as you email.

I'm totally boggled as to why this app, that I've been using since it's inception, is rated as low as it is. In addition to email, it has a built-in calendar, and work delegation/group projects as well. It's also free. I've tried so many email apps, both free and paid for, and this one is most featured one filled one I've found. I used Kiwi for awhile (before Spark was available) and did appreciate the fact that I had total access to all google features. What I didn't enjoy, was the fact that it looked just gmaiil, making me feel that I was still on their website. I know everyone has different preferences (ergo, the TONS of duplicates for every task), but this is my favorite. The only thing I was unhappy about, was that it didn't have a dark interface option built-in. With the advent of a system wide dark theme via Mojave, my last concern has been addressed.

Ukrainian company imports your emails for the service, and you have to trust their security. They also mine your data (purchases, locations, interests) and say they appropriately anonymize and bundle it with other user info when they resell it to marketers. I'd rather pay for a product that lets me completely control my privacy.

I couldn't agree more. This app is superb. I especially like the ability to delete or archive by sliding two fingers left or right over the trackpad. It's attractive, functional, with excellent interface with Gmail, something you couldn't say of clunky old Mail, which has become a serious embarrassment for Apple. I only wish Spark would let users customize the icons. Other than that, this is a great app. I too am puzzled as to why it gets so few downloads. Mac users don't what they are missing.

Intriguing app. Pretty impressed. My expectations were low since I've tried about every Mac client but this one held it's own for sure. Very attractive UI.

why not backup to external drive, or better to flash USB memory?
and do you really really need to store emails, why to accumulate clutter?

Need to have access to the threads for work history in side the email program.
All the other email have a on my mac storage of the email folders on you computer. Not everybody has unlimited on line email storage.

Spark does not allow fore the out of app storage of the email as eml native files which the native format which will open in any other email app as original. Mail, Airmail, Postbox etc.

Cheers

Great email client, looks fantastic and works fast. Speedy account setup by just entering email address and password, which is excellent. No silly *huge* icons for attachments. When someone sends lots of different attachments and you only need some of them, you can select them with ⌘-click and drag / drop them anywhere you like. And like other email clients they don't have truncated filenames which is great. Snoozing, Send Later, (i)cloud integration, all big plusses. Dealbreaker for me is that incoming mail can't be organized automatically with rules / filters globally or per account, like move email to client specific folders or mark them with tags / categories. Also, adding different folders for specific clients is a bit of a hassle. Adding folders is done in Preferences and there you can mark them as Favorite so that they appear in de folder list, but that's it. Moving emails manually works but doing so many times a day is not so great. I have 5 different email accounts, all with multiple client folders. I need to see at a glance which client sends me a message. In Spark it is not possible to see all accounts with their subfolders in the folder list, there’s only one unified inbox and that doesn’t work for me. So if you use only one email account and/or use it for non-business use I can imagine Spark works great.

I'm afraid it will get bloated with the constant addition of features, like for example the last one(email-delegation), as most of new features are unnecessary and useless for most users.

Correct for single-purpose users. For team users, however, this is a valuable add-on. From Readdle's perspective, and really all of ours, this is needed to add value for the revenue-generating Premium/Enterprise customers of Spark....without it, overall development and/or the free version may cease.

Five stars? Yeah, I know. But I've been trying to find a single source of truth for all of my many email accounts and my calendars and what not. Lots of email clients have a ton of features... that I don't want or need. But none of them have all of the things I care about most—except Spark. Color coding every account, specifying notification settings individually per account. Complete calendar integration. Pins per account, sent per account, smart or standard inbox per account. It's like they read my mind. Finally, I've found my email client. A quest decades long has concluded.

What's up with this only available from OS X 10.13 or always only the latest OS attitude Spark developers. You guys think everyone switches over to the latest OS-es instantly all the time? I quit doing that since Lion as things were starting to go screwed up and unsolved for too long from then on. Pity to see Spark developers don't seem to see the need for a wider customer base with this. Too bad, missed opportunity if you ask me.

I use the iPhone app to my satisfaction and would love to go over to a better email app but I'm still on El Capitan and not planning to move on soon cos I'm sick of all the problem solving after OS updates. C'mon Readdle is it that hard to keep some little further backwards support for a simple e-mail app?...

I'll just look at Postbox or Airmail then. Or anyone knows where I can find older version 1.5 or so ? Seems to be deleted of course! Good job Spark...

I have used Spark for a little over a year. I am about to delete it. The interface is nice but emails take a few minutes to download. Often I can see the email and who sent it but I have to wait to see the rest of the email. These are texts email, without any attachment. This happened regularly with my iPhone, at least twice daily. Often I had to close Spark and open it again in order to see all the emails. Also, while sending, it would keep the emails in Outbox for several minutes, before it would send them. This was frustrating when trying to respond quickly to an email. This week all this started happening also with my iMac.

I've been using Spark for over a year, too, and I've not had any of these issues. Neither the Mac version or the iOS version has given me any issues since version 2.x. I'm not in the market for the team/group features, but everything else works perfectly. This includes the direct connection with 3rd party tools (like OneNote, OmniFocus, Pocket), quick separation of emails to appropriate categories, AI understanding of which folder redundant emails might go, Siri shortcuts that are fast, and a wonderful scheduling tool. Now it has email templates.

I'm not saying your symptoms are inaccurate, but that others, such as myself, have had the very opposite experience with this email program.

same here...it used to be much longer the wait, now it takes much faster, maybe about 30 seconds to load all emails. Still it's not immediate, but it's ok.
30 seconds is not really a problem, hopefully it will be fixed.

Nice GUI, but it is a poor cousin to Apple Mail in terms of features. I would buy it only if you like the interface (it is nice, but wasn't enough for me). The iOS version also was a bit of a pain, as it is all too easy to accidentally "pin" an email, as opposed to deleting it.
