If trust is an issue, the other two alternatives (PingMenu and IconPing) are both open source and on github,.

User beware. This app has no instruction, no contact info for the developer--Nothing. The website is blank with no information or email address - i.e. no support of any kind an no resources to report bugs. Since it is at version 1.4 one would assume it has had other releases at earlier times. Other than being on the Apple Store, their is no assurance of accountability or that this is not some form of malware or a personal data collector.
I can't vouch for its usefulness or operation as I personally have strong reservations about installing it on my computer for the reasons above.
