Cache Control X allows you to view and configure your backside cache settings. The included utilities allow you to enable or disable the cache "on the fly", change the speed at which your backside cache operates and automatically enable the cache at this speed at boot time. There are also options to disable speculative access (a problem with OldWorld machines that originally did not ship with a G3 or G4 processor) and enable dynamic power management. Altivec support is also automatically enabled.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later

Wow am i glad I found this!

I am running OSX on an old 8550 with a Newer G3/250 upgrade card enabled through XPostFacto.

I was psyched that this worked at all whatever the speed.

Installing CacheControl X has re-enbled the 512KB cache on the upgrade card and the machine is soooo much more responsive.

My only wish is for improved documentation.
