CleanExit for Mac1.0

Secure hard drive wiping utility.

What is CleanExit for Mac

CleanExit is a secure hard drive wiping software that lets you quickly and easily erase your hard drive so your files are completely and permanently unrecoverable.

CleanExit is the best wiping software to use before you sell, donate or recycle your computer or hard drive. Your computer’s hard drive has all of your personal files such as passwords, account login information, personal pictures and sensitive documents. Simply deleting your files or reformatting the hard drive won’t cut it. Both of those options leave the files intact and many hard drive recovery software tools can get them back fairly easily. To protect yourself, you have to make sure your hard drive is securely erased by writing over every single file. CleanExit scans the drive and writes over all sectors with "CLEANEXIT" across the entire drive. Once CleanExit is finished, no recovery software will be able to pull up any information or files that were previously stored on the drive.

Note: CleanExitPro is also offered for erasing multiple drives -- internal and external -- at once; upgrade pricing available.

I was disappointed to see that it is not a Mac app. It apparently has to be run by booting to a CD. I figured it would be a Mac app that I could run from any drive. Making me boot from a CD just to run this utility seems hardly worth it. I realize it I can use Disk Utility, but wiping multiple drives at once intrigued me. Please consider making it an app that runs from any drive and I think I'd actually buy it. Thanks for considering.

Other than being able to run this from a CD-ROM on a single Mac, I don't see how this is any better than running Disk Utility's secure erase feature via a second Mac with Target Disk mode. Would somebody from Prosoft like to elaborate?
