2.0.0

Good app-mangement tool.

Overview

Uninstool provides thorough deletion of unnecessary apps: simply dragging apps into Trash does not delete them thoroughly. These programs normally leave some unnecessary files (Log, Cache, Preferences, Service, Crash Report) which amass over time, take up a great part of the hard disk and slow down your system. But now you can leave all the trouble to Uninstool. It helps you locate and delete the junk files once for all.

  • Simple, User-friendly Interface: Uninstool has a pleasant-looking, neat, user-friendly interface. You only have to drag the unnecessary programs into the ring icon in the main interface to finish the job. Alternatively, you may click the ring icon, specify the programs and uninstall them very easily.
  • Residual App File Monitoring: Start the monitoring function. After you drag the unnecessary programs into Trash, Uninstool will prompt you and help delete these junk app files thoroughly, even though the main program hasn’t been started. The whole course is fast and easy.
  • Easy Deletion of System-level Apps: Typically, system-level apps are installed by App store. As ordinary tool software has not system authorization, these apps can’t be thoroughly deleted in some cases, so the user has to identify them and grant authorization before deleting them. Uninstool will help you locate the apps and instruct you on correct deletion steps.

I disagree that Log, Cache, Preferences, Service, and Crash Report report files "take up a great part of the hard disk and slow down your system." These files, for the most part, are tiny. This app, and other similar ones, is not necessary and exists only to make easy money for the developer. The only scenario where the accumulation of the above-mentioned files could significantly impact a user's hard drive and experience is when it is a slow-RPM drive (not a SSD) that is very close to full. Or, perhaps, if an app is having trouble / is poorly written -- then is could conceivably spew many MB or GB of logs or cache files onto a drive. But this is the exception, not the rule.

I recommend this application to those people who have been using their Macs without cleaning them for years.
