Some weeks ago I installed this software and its assistant on my Mac (‘early 2008’ Mac Pro with 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 10 Gb RAM and OS 10.9.2). I set the backup period to 2hr with no requirement for the machine to be idle. The resulting backup pattern was chaotic with intervals as short as 16 mins as well as 1hr 15 mins and 2 hrs. And yes, I made sure that Time Machine was turned off in the Preferences. I reported all this to the developers on May 14th but have not received any response to date. Very disappointing.

Doesn't TimeMachineEditor do the same thing for free?

Though I have not tried it, I’m pretty sure this does not work in Sierra.
