Was a useful and reasonably priced app. With upgrade to v2+, now way overpriced ($19 and $49). Given the fiddliness of the previous product, I won't even both installing demos of v2+, since those prices are not at all justified by the product.
what a waste of money. Almost every time I'm trying to use my second iMac with this app, I have to go thru a lot of trouble and setups... If you like to play and try to figure things out like PC users do, this app is for YOU... but not for me... oh yes, when you try to contact support, they will tell you that they are surprised about something that works that shouldn't ... LOL
I had a little trouble setting this up between my MBP OS10.6 and iMac OS10.9 and the instructions didn't help much, but finally figured it out.
Everything is running very smoothly and I have full remote control of the MBP via mouse and keyboard, while at the same time I still have full control of the MBP with its own mouse and keyboard.
Now that it is working, I am *very* impressed.
'Thank you' to the devs – you can expect to see a donation from me real soon.
Excellent program, took a little firewall tweaking to get it running, server on Mac, client on Win7 32bit.
Works smoothly as described, however can't get the file copying between machines to work yet. But for a open source program to control two machines with one lot of hardware, brilliant.
Instead of bickering over who copied whom, do something useful and tell us how well this app works, or doesn't. What kind of latency is involved, for instance, using a wired/wireless network connection? How do you switch between computers? Do you need a client version of the app on each computer and, if so, how does it handle different versions for older iterations of OS X? Stuff we actually need to know that's not revealed in the sparse app description.
Version of the app on the about page is 1.4.15 (not 0.9.0 as listed here).
There's an issue with v1.4.15 under Mavericks that needs a workaround which is listed here - http://superuser.com/questions/656912/synergy-on-mavericks-osx-10-9-and-enable-assistive-devices
Seems it will be fixed in the next release? (1.4.16?)
Not to be confused with the iTunes controller of the same name, that's been around for years and years?

Doesn't anyone do research anymore?
