From the same nvidia link mentioned by @Evilinstone:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for Driver Release 313.01.03f01

Model identifier should be MacPro3,1 (2008), MacPro4,1 (2009), MacPro5,1 (2010) or later
Mac OS X v10.8.5 (12F37)

So it would seem these aren't intended as general drivers for any/all macs, just those models.

That's the same as 8.17.74

If you've the CUDA drivers also installed it will display, next to "GPU Driver Version," 8.17.74 (313.01.03f01)

We realize there's something of a discrepancy in all these numbers: the download shows "313.01.03f01," the plug-ins themselves show "8.17.74," and the control panel and preference pane show "1.0." So, how do we list this thing? We felt that it was best to indicate the actual release level of the drivers themselves.

Besides, "313.01.03f01" was found nowhere except in the name of the download. Go figure....

In the Preference Pane/NVIDIA Driver Manager, under the Updates tab, I see the 313.01.03f01 version number.

I do see that the 1.0 is listed in the Get Info, but I don't think they've ever changed that. Confusing.

Hmmm...no notes, not sure whether to try to install this..anyone? Is this just CUDA drivers, or actually replacements for built in OS X drivers? Why wouldn't they be included as part of a OS X point release update, or show up under Software update?

I would gladly install this if it allowed me to dynamically enable/disable monitors in a multi monitor setup. for those of you who don't know what I mean, right now, if you have multiple monitors physically connected, but sometimes only want output to one monitor (i.e. forget extended desktop), the only way to do this is disconnect the cable. Simply turning off power to the 2nd monitor doesn't disable output to it. The mouse cursor can still 'drift' over onto the other display and windows can open that you can't even see.

There are third party tools that get around this, but I get the feeling they are kind of 'haxie's

These are actual graphics card drivers. CUDA is altogether separate. I have them installed just for the sake of a higher version number, but I haven't seen any appreciable performance or reliability difference. I'm using a flashed GTX 570.

Thanks Adreitz! Could you tell me if the Driver Pref pane provides any functionality to manage multiple monitors, particularly a way to disable or turn off output to a monitor?
