A little too simple, at least with iTunes 12.3.x -- the only thing that shows in the menu is "iTunes" in the menu bar and clicking on it only shows Quit. Nothing anywhere about current track info.
UPDATE: It doesn't show the current song immediately on launch -- only when the track changes. Need to fix this.

Simple and works as advertised with iTunes 10.7. A perfect combo with ByteController that allows nice shortcut control.

What it says on the tin – Simple iTunes displays the currently playing track and band in the menu bar, nothing less and nothing more.
Personally, I’d like to have some settings (font and divider), but if you prefer tools that do one task with absolutely minimal fuss, this one is for you.
