CustomMenu lets you build your own global menu containing your favorite apps, files, and folders. Once created, you can easily open apps and files, or browse folders and access their contents from any app with your CustomMenu.

An OS X Dock usually contains running apps, often used apps, files, folders, and minimized windows. By adding items to CustomMenu instead to your Dock, you can keep your Dock clean and clear but still have them instantly accessible system-wide.

Good in theory but flawed in practice. Keeps ‘losing’ track of the items in my menu.

Wolfgang (of PointWorks) has been very helpful allowing me to resolve the issues I have been having. As a consequence I would have to raise my rating to, probably 4.5

Looks promising. But no trial version = no buy.

Can recommend FinderPop - its free, does more and has more features/greater flexibility/higher capacity. Have been using FP for years, dev is very responsive to feedback, ideas for features etc.

The key word is "global" here. The biggest advantage this app has over FP is that it can and does appear in all apps. on the FP forum the dev admits there is a problem with the Chrome Browser where FP won't show up without terminal commands. CustomMenu even shows up in Full Screen Mode Retina which is nice. That and is highly customizable without having the naming problems that FP has. But hey! You are free to use what ever app floats your boat. I'll stick with CustomMenu, thank you!

I don't think it's fair to give an app a one star rating just because you like another app better. To my mind one star ratings should be reserved for apps that don't work properly or work very poorly.

Please refrain from assigning scores to "reviews" that are not actually reviews of the app itself, but rather your opinion of pricing or how it compares to the competition.

Reviews and ratings should be left by individuals who have actually used the title and have some insight to share about the app itself. Otherwise, please leave comments (to which this has been changed), or take advantage of the "Suggest Similar Software" feature. Thanks.

FinderPop 2.4.6 is a tried and trusty global menu launcher which works well in OSX10.8.2. It does the same, only more for a couple of beers for Turly O'Connor.

Wow. Stumbled across this little gem. Does just what I've been looking for. Using it for a few hours now. No bugs so far.

Well worth the price.

Great job, developer.
