4.2.1

Quickly switch resolutions on your Retina display.

Overview

QuickRes is the quickest and easiest way to switch between screen resolutions on your Mac. With the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, you can set your resolution all the way up to an extreme 3840 x 2400! With other Macs, you can set your resolutions to things you've never seen before, including a HiDPI mode, which is as close you can get to a Retina Display on a standard computer.

Useful, maybe, but I do not appreciate that upon starting the program, it automatically changed my current resolution. It should default to the current resolution and then allow one to make changes from there. I don't like to fault a free app, but please make this modificaton. Thanks.

MacUpdate team, be advised that while you have this app listed as costing $4.99, when you are taken to the developer's website, it actually costs $9.99. Some people may be put off by this fact, particularly because there is no demo or demo period. In other words, the developer expects people to blindly pay the $10, without really knowing how well the app works, or if it even meets their specific needs. A bad policy, in my view.

I am currently searching for a resolution switcher that is simple for a small client. I downloaded all the available apart from this app. Even though it is only priced at$4.99 I feel a 7 day trial would have been appreciated. Try before buy is pretty normal these days and I would be happy to support if the developer would either give seven day trial or perhaps a 10 "boot" option. I suggest it would result in more $5 purchases that way.

Resolved my issue on my laptop-attached ASUS PQ321Q often reverting to non-scaled display when my laptop was closed (which sometimes made me unable to access "scaled" and forced me to keep the laptop open.. which takes a lot more graphic card resources and creates issues. SwitchRes never really resolved this issue. BUT QUickRes did :0) I'm glad I blindly trusted this and paid without even giving it a try.. I thought "oh well either I lose $5 but sponsor this developer.. or it actually works and I sponsor this developer" ;0)

I was quite willing to buy this. But it's no longer on the MAS, and when I tried to purchase it from the developer's site, nothing happened when I clicked the button to submit my order. And I can find no way to e-mail the developer. Lost sale. Bummer.

This is a very useful app. Set it up with a hotkey and you can easily toggle screen resolutions (or cycle through them if you set more than two). I only use two resolutions on my retina MacBook Pro, and QuickRes is the fastest way I've found to switch between them. Well done!
