More powerful than the limited Timline 3D by BeeDocs and much easier to use than Tinderbox. Able to export to a variety of formats so data isn't locked in. Especially, like the Similie timeline export for sharing timelines on the web.
Still has some bugs to iron out as well as some quirky behavior (for instance cmd-M brings up Manage Entities instead of minimizing the app. Not good to hijack default OS X shortcuts), but hopefully these things will be worked out in subsequent releases.
This app is good, but it has the potential to be great if the community and developer takes nurtures it to improve workflow, the user interface, and the features.
As others have said, finally someone gets it.
The developer has been very helpful and responsive to suggestions. I've adopted this into my writing workflow very easily. A lawyer friend uses it for litigation to keep track of case elements.
The one suggestion I've already passed on is flexibility in time-unit labels. For example, in writing stories often aren't proportionately linear. There may be a one-week spurt of narrative, followed by the next bit of narrative taking place months or years later. With screenplays, one is more interested in page count and page number than exact chronological distinctions.
I think this product would easily double its sales if one could remove the tethering to chronological time and restate the time units as, say, page numbers. In other words, instead of Day 1 to Day 120, have the option to label as [unit choice] 1 to [unit choice] 120.
Highly recommended.
As others have said, Aeon Timeline provides a flexible and powerful way to visualize information over time. Its strength is many ways it provides to look at the relationships between events. I am using it for historical research and the ability to filter events by date, by category, by person or by tag is invaluable.
I have been using the program since the earliest development versions and the developer has always been very open to questions and suggestions.
The integration with Scrivener, which I use for writing, is icing on the cake.

This software is really neat in what it can do. The graphic representation of a timeline is very useful for presentations and any other work that might want such. The GUI is well done and the ability for me to export results to Scrivener, which I own, is very useful.
This is some great software.
FINALLY, a timeline that gets it right and is not a one-trick pony! Probably the best added bonus is its Scrivener synchronization. Developer gives the user the option of purchasing a license directly (thank you) or MAS.
