I have now found the correct download (for some reason, I had the windows version before), so here's a proper review of Ecran: Well, this app is as basic as it can be. It's basically just a WebView and a NSTabView - Apple ships these with OS X by standard and the only "real" addition by the developer is the "About" menu. It's difficult to say whether this web browser has potential because virtually nothing has been done with it. If you have spare time, go ahead, download it, see if it suits you. If you're looking for a serious web browser, stay away, because that's not what it currently is. I mean, it doesn't even have a progress indicator that shows the website's loading process. Nor does it have a stop button. And if you remove the http:// and just enter a URL such as "youtube.com", it won't work because WebView doesn't recognise URLs like that and the developer has implemented nothing that would handle this. I have to agree with @Trance. In its current state, this app is poor. However, it is stable and doesn't crash, that's a pluspoint I guess.

This is because WebKit is already included with Mac OS X by standard, so there's no need to bundle it twice. All this app does is link to the framework and acts as a wrapper, hence it's small size. Something like this can be programed using Xcode in about 2 minutes.

A simple web browser like this is a good idea but this software has bugs: one can not copy links to paste into a new window, key shortcuts don't exist, the window size can not be adjusted. It is not clear if there is any cookie collection either. Safari flashblock does work with this as well - I'm running this under 10.6.8

This download downloads a folder with a bunch of Windows DLLs. Useless.
