Enjoy CCI very much. Have no issues running on Imac 2009 with 8GB RAM. I am a developer and network engineer and I can say this product is vey stable on my setup. Im running mountain lion OSX 10.8x and have experienced no problems since I installed the application several months ago. Well worth the money if you like to use themes on a mac. You can download a demo so I dont understand why anyone would have issues. Try it first. Then either uninstall via the uninstall script included or purchase it and enjoy.

Once I installed this app it slowed opening of most of my other programs. It didnt even make my OS look better as i hoped for. Finally when I got sick waiting 1min for opening text files i tried to uninstall CCI. Well, it didnt work either so i had to reinstall whole OSX.

I really would recommend this program to my worst enemy.

yeah
and maybe your worst ennemy will also take the time to read the instructions contained in it...

Surely there are things i would have implemented since previuos releases, but it works fine and if you take the care to follow the instructions it will also unistall fine.
indeed its still to heavy to load hehe sometimes my 12 cores i7 seems a G4 :)

There's something wrong with the download. It's only 102.5 MBs and it won't open.

I tested the link just now, and it opened fine for me. If there's a problem, let me or the MacUpdate folks (who maintain the download) know.

Thanks

By far the only "complete" theming solution for OSX Lion (and Mountain Lion - tentatively!). I've used this theme beginning in OSX Leopard, and continue to use it today with Mountain Lion DP. The developer provides awesome, timely support and has been superb at keeping pace with Apple product updates.

I've had this software for some time now, purchasing it after another UI Mod Software Product made by a company called UNSANITY stopped being supported. I like the software, but it does have some glitches. For instance, I have a June 2011 MBP with all of the bells and whistles running Mac OS X 10.7.4. And, even though I have CCI "DEACTIVATED" within System Preferences, it's still activated in several apps; including Text Edit and Preview. And, it will activate and deactivate while these programs are open depending on what other apps I do or don't open. I've tried everything from Cleaning the Caches with Programs like Onyx, MacKeeper, Lion Cache Cleaner, etc., I've tried reinstalling OS X Lion, and I've tried installing the Combo Updates as they come out. Still have the same problem. I went to the website to check for this & OTHER "Known" Issues, but there is NO CONTACT Information anywhere on the entire website...

At the very, very top of their website in the middle of the page is a black tab labeled "Feedback". It links to their Contact page at http://sites.fastspring.com/crystalclear/order/contact

You may have best luck posting this there.

As noted in the FAQs for the latest version of CCI, TextEdit and Preview are strange, special cases on Lion. CCI is activated in them by default, but you can't interact with most of CCI's settings from within those apps.
I'll look into why you're having trouble deactivating CCI for those apps. It may be a bug.

This problem arises when you don't adhere to the software's stated requirements. CCI 2.7 only supported Snow Leopard and Lion 10.7.3, but you probably upgraded to 10.7.4 before uninstalling CCI, and CCI 2.7 wasn't smart enough to disable itself before you could get into this trouble.

Today's update to CCI 2.7.4 adds support for Lion 10.7.4. Each version of Lion has required a completely separate set of graphics files, which Apple has never done in the past.

I know this kind of problem is a serious issue, but I'm doing the best I can to keep up with Apple on Lion. I'm only one guy, though... so try to read the instructions. :-)

BTW, the new version will turn itself off if you update to Mountain Lion, so this should prevent such dramatic problems in the future.

  • Animating the opening and closing of windows
  • Using "Single Application Mode" (SAM), which reduces window clutter by keeping only one application active at a time. Use the built-in application switcher (command-Tab) to switch applications.
  • Allowing users to move windows by more than just the titlebar.
  • Blurring the background for greater usability with very transparent windows.
  • A selection of preset themes, making switching among the numerous possible combinations of color, transparency, and window frames a snap.
