Certainly one of the best strategy games ever made for the Mac- although civ3 is, of course, better (unless you really like sci-fi).

The best strategy games ever produced!!! This game rocks still in the year 2003! If you dont get this one you will miss such a lot of experience. This game is a must have and a classicer of strategy and war games.

A great game. A very timely update. I posted my complaint the very day I upgraded to 9.1, and had the update within 48hrs. Well done, Aspyr.

Fixes performance under OS 9.1, well done.

aspyr, the home of half-@ssed conversions, we don't honor screen resolutions, etc. and we REQUIRE insertion of CD s to play our half-@ssed ports. Good job for the mac world, NOT! We're MS in disguise.

Wow, I love this game. PC Gamer gave it it's highest ever rating, of 97% and the mac version holds true.

Would have liked better documentation.

Never could get this to download.

I had to uninstall SMAC and re-install it =without= the updater because: The units made sounds =every= move, not just when they are first built, and In battle, mindworms made laser noises and the isles of the deep made skimship noises. Is that really the way you designed the update?
