Tidy2.5.0

17 February 2014

Uninstalls apps and related files.

Overview

Tidy has one mission: to uninstall any apps you want to remove from your Mac.

Contrary to popular belief, uninstalling an application from your Mac these days is not just about dragging it to the trash: that leaves all kinds of files lying around on your computer. There's just no hope of trashing applications 'the Mac way'...or is there?

Unlike other clean-up applications that you need to launch to do the actual clean-up, Tidy sits right there along your trash can. When you drag an application to the trash, it will go and hunt down all related files and also move them to the trash. Now that's a clean Mac!

I don't see the point of paying $8 for something AppCleaner can do for free with a cleaner interface. Even if AppCleaner did not exist, the price would still be unjustifiably high. The fact that it runs in the background and does its task automatically is irrelevant since uninstalling apps is not an action that has to be done regularly. In fact, I'd rather have a app that launches only when needed than one that consumes even tiny amounts of resources all the time. The less programs running at once the better. That said, I gave it a one star instead of a half star rating because its icon is easy on the eyes.

Appears to have been discontinued - it is no longer listed as an active app on TastyApps site and there is also no mention of it under their Legacy Apps section

Tried it but it is useless. Didnt popup when dropping apps in the bin. It ones hogged my system (the app was peaking at 100% cpu usages). Has to force quit it. On top - there are several other well proven apps doing the same but better.
