Disappointing, and definitely an app for newbie or "toy" use.

Does the "miniature" look (bokeh?), which has just about run its course and is a cliche.

But - for isolating a subject like a flower from a background, Focus 2 has not Loupe view. The mask brush does not come down small enough to get a good separated edge.

The net result is that the differential focus is kludgy and amateurish. For $5 it would be OK, but I paid $12, and that was a special.

I can create stunning tilt-shift effect with this app! Didn't have much time to play with it, but it looks like a great and simple app.

I bought the app when Macphun guys took over the development of This app, so I cannot speak about the previous version, but Focus 2 is definitely worth buying.

I enjoy using this app and creating miniature effect. Extremely easy to use and intuitive!

Well this is a useless piece of cr*p! I bought it from MacUpdate and used it once. Now when I try and use it, it quits immediately after launch.

Yet another scam and into the trash it goes!!!!

All is well again. I trashed everything and then had MacUpdate Desktop install Focus from scratch. It works again. No need to buy a second copy.

Dear idiots:

1. There is a demo.

2. This is a fantastic tool and it costs 15 DOLLARS. Go and have a look at what photography tools of this calibre normally cost.

This application might not have a trial version but it's worth it... I just love it.

-It's very user friendly
-When you open it, it shows immediately a quick video tutorial, you can tell they care about you.
-They continue having ways to develop it... they actually "read my mind" and added focus mask! an awesome feature.
-Their costumer support is quick to answer, friendly and efficient. I transferred Focus to my new Mac Pro and had some preference issues that they solved within a few hours.

Cheers,

Diego

I just got to add that their license system has a flaw. If you buy a new computer and desire to transfer the program, you will need to request a new license even if you are planning to use it in the old computer. They are great, I am sure they will solve this.

if you buy it, the license is ONLY for one mac !! If you have 2 or more macs, you better go to the app store, and pay double, but have license for all your macs.
i'm very disappointed with this !!!!

First tests gave me instant gratification. I would give it five stars, but I have not tried it that much that I could tell. I love it so far

Sorry, but I don't think that the demo video really does a good job of showing how effective this software is. Let's see some before and after shots, so that we can see the difference with the blur.

I was just thinking that I need something to blur the edges of my food shots for my food and travel site and this came up in MU. However, without an impressive video or even a trial, I'm not willing to buy it, even for $1.99. I've gotten stuck with apps before and no one will fool me again.

Focus does blur using it's own algorithm. The difference is that depth of blur increase gradually like it does with actual camera lens. You can try it yourself. Trial version available here: http://www.mupromo.com/deal/1823/7024/focus or "Download Now" at this page.
Hope you will like it!

Mango Tango. You are, the video is terrible, but I just downloaded the trial version and loved it that much that I bought it. This is so smooth and easy to work with. Fast and believable results.
