I wish I had a dime for every calculator that has been offered for computers. I have my trusty 23 year old HP-32S always at hand for those quick calculations I can't do in my head.

Being as I am an OLDER CITIZEN of the republic, I really like free Handy Calculator -- http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/38524/handy-calculator -- due to its simple, uncluttered but sleek black design, large numbers, and its ability to show accumulative calculations in its display string. I find Handy Calculator much nicer than Apple's default calculator. What an eyesore that one is! Where did the unified theme go, Apple? :( Mind you, I only use a calculator occasionally, and for very simple mathematical computations. Thus, Handy Calculator meets my needs just fine.

Then why didn't you leave a review on the HC page instead of a useless comment here?

Or were you having a moment of senility and thought you WERE on the HC webpage? It seems as though you thought you were on that page, although I don't understand why you left a comment instead of review for an app you like so much.

So clean and easy to use. Pretty competent in terms of functions. I especially appreciate things like Tax reduction and median/average calculations. My favorite desktop calculator without doubt.

Wonderful calculator - very straightforward to input calculations. Much better than Soulver. Best desktop calculator I've ever used.

It is because the author ceased developing this program (magic-number-machine) and continues to provide downloads including source code. A new group has taken the program, updated it, changed the name slightly, and is now selling it on the App store.
