Screeny overview

Screeny gives you the freedom to capture your videos or images at any size. You can click & drag to resize the capture area or input the exact pixel dimensions to set to the size of the capture area. All the while you will get instant feedback on the capture area's current pixel dimensions.

Actually It's not bad for a free software, I give it 4 stars, it works and works fine on my Mac. the FPS is high, no obvious lag, the resolution is native (same as your screen's) and yeah, I got it for limited time free. The drawback is, you cannot change the path of the saved files, you either drag it to dropbox or let it sync with cloud app or droplr if you want to put the recording footages on the cloud. and you know, the footage will easily over 100mb but cloud or droplr only offers 23mb per file/ And it cannot activate iSight camera which makes it less useful.

Not bad when it worked. Unfortunately it's been broken since October at least on Mountain Lion. Several posts on this on their own support site but still no fix or word from dev so beginning to look like abandon ware. Which is a shame as it certainly had plenty of potential.

When updating from within Screeny it says it is for 10.7 Lion only, not 10.6 as it says here. Too bad for those of us who won't go the Lion?/Mountain Lion route of integration with iOS.

I got Screeny when it was free for a limited time via MacAppStore. I'd give everybody the advice, NOT to buy this app. Sure, it works, but then again, QuickTimePlayer (which is included with Mac OS X) does the same job for free, and in many regards better than Screeny (for example you can choose the save location). Just open QuickTimePlayer (version 10.something) and click File>New Screen Recording. Or ctrl+cmd+N. Then follow the instructions, you can drag to record an area or make a full screen recording. Works like a charm. So: another useless app in the MacAppStore that tries to generate some income from uninformed users.

I useQtakeHD software. I need a demo version to verify whether or not SCREENY will work. I own SnapzPro and it doesn't work with QTAKE. Please allow demo versions of SCREENY! Thanks

Just purchased this app from the MUPromo, great deal! However the "Stop Recording" button doesn't work for me. Developer, please look into this. :)

Looks great, but why does the developer have so little confidence in his product? No free trial, no way to test the app before paying for it. Is the developer afraid nobody will buy it once they try it?
