Patchy and security threat! it happened a few times that I could see someone else's screen on mine. It just happened randomly - a window opened and there it was, I could see someone else working. The first time I saw the person's email address and emailed them - they didn't even have air server open! So how did that happen because I could see everything they are doing. Contacted Airserver but only got arrogant messages back saying it was my fault and that our security has been breach apparently instead of trying to figure out whether the mistake could've been on their side. I had the same issue in two offices now on two networks - and only ever with air server. They really need to get this sorted!

Worked like a charm on macOS 10.14.5, mirroring an iPad Pro.

I cannot endorse this product. In full-screen mode on my Mac the application crops my iPad screen on all four edges. This feature is essentially is NOT full-screen mode. We call this zooming in. When contacting the company about purchasing their product, they were quick to reply. Upon contacting them with troubleshooting issues they were very slow to reply, and they responded with incorrect instructions. Their techs have never used their product! Once I insisted on a refund, the company was even slower to reply (reply pending days now.) This feature is effortless and straightforward. Apple should put such a feature right into the operating systems. They have air streaming from device to Apple TV. There's no reason why they should not be able to do the same device to device. For the cost, this should work better, much better. If Apple includes this feature in their next updates, this company (along with a few others) will lose their products entirely and be out of business. The next question is: If Apple were to include this feature, what will this company do? They have do not have a future. I don't see a reason to support a company without a future. For your benefit as a customer, move along.

Again! The update from v6 to v7 is free! <3 Note: One thing AirServer can do that Kodi still CANNOT is mirror iOS device video using AirPlay to a Mac. Seriously, Kodi can't do that, at least not at version 17. I double-checked.

The developer's website says, regarding v6: "Compatible with iOS 9 and El Capitan: Free update for all existing users". Result: Version 6.0.0 is FREE for all paid users of AirServer. I installed the update over version 5.3.2 (the last of version 5) and verified this is the case. √ (^_^)

Tried the demo and this works great. One thing I would like it to do though, I use an external mic through a Universal Audio thunderbolt device and it will not record that audio while recording video. This makes it a two step process to make an instructional video. Record the video then use another app, Logic or FCP to add the dialogue. The 5th star if they can make that work and I expect they can.

This app gets much better and better. Thank you for fixing the aspect ratio bug on OSX 10.7. It works very good without any issue or problems here. Good video stream without dropout. Just try it!

I spent over 5 hours on the phone with Apple second level support trying to do something simple: take the output from my IOS device and play it through my desktop system (audio engine D1 (d/a converter) to M-Audio Studiophile AV40 speakers). Airplay should handle this, right? Wrong! Apple has formally confirmed that you cannot use your Mac as a receiver and will update their documentation. Third party software is needed. I purchased and installed AirServer. Everything sounds great from both my third generation iPod Touch IOS 6.1.3 and iPhone 5 IOS 7. No problems, no burps. Plug and play as expected. Wonderful product and thanks to the vendor for creating it.

4.6.1 fixes the 32-bit pref pane bug though it seems to have introduced another bug. If I select Preferences from the AirServer menu bar icon System Preferences crashes. If I open the Air Server pref pane directly from System Preferences then no crash.

This developer refuses to respond to contact requests. Worst support I've ever encountered on software. Very cool program but that's negated by the inability to contact a human being.

Really tired of the Sparkle update not working without user interaction. Really tired of the update not going where I installed the app (i.e., not at /Applications). Really tired of having to reactive the app on every single update. Still upset over the developer reneging on free updates. For what it does, it's a good program - but everything else (paying, updating, dealing with the non-responsive developer) is excruciating.

Thanks to developer to respond quickly to the licensing problem issue, with this update all work perfect again. The only thing is, the need to pay $4 for the mirroring feature after this update. in the dev's support page says: Are updates free? Yes. We’re constantly adding feature improvements and tweaks to AirServer, which you’ll benefit from for free. When a new version becomes available you’ll be prompted to update. Simply update and you’ll get the new version. by the way, this is a excelent app, and i'll pay for this update for sure.

I just bought this recently, and it has already become a staple for me and my iOS devices. Mirroring my iPad onto any Mac in the house is very easy and works well. I initially had an issue with my connection dropping after a minute, but support responded to me within a day and the problem was fixed in their latest release. The app has been very stable and responsive for me. The only issue I've had with the current version is a little bit of audio choppiness when mirroring an air combat simulator from my iPad 3. This may be due to my own network lag, though.

Should be a good app, however, it's very unstable. Audio is cut occasionally. There are noise and popping sound in background. Not worth for $7.99.

I'm just wondering why anyone would want to stream video/ audio etc. to a Mac? Wouldn't it be easier just to pull up iTunes on your mac and watch a movie or listen to music? Seems like a pointless app. It would be more beneficial if you could reverse the flow and stream media from the Mac to the iOS device.

Version 3 has an undisclosed software activation requirement, which is flakey. This also means that when the developer's server goes offline, or he stops paying for hosting someday, the software will cease to work.

I stuck with BananaTV for a while, because it was more reliable, but AirServer 3 is rock solid. I run it on my home theater Mac Mini, so it works just like an AppleTV. Sweet! Now, with the Media Center Safari Extension, I can be surfing, find an interesting video on YouTube, Vimeo etc., and with a click, put it up on the big screen to share. What I don't get is, why doesn't Apple bake this functionality right into Safari/QTPlug/QTPlayer/iTunes? They tout the technology, but don't give you even basic tools to use it on OS X, whereas you can send *any* media from your iPhone/iPad to an AirPlay device. Doesn't make sense.

Just bought this great piece of software. All is ok it's pretty stable and performance is really great, but what i would like is a better UI when receiving for example videos. Opening QTX just doesn't look very solid in my opinion. You can take advantage of QT framewrok yourself. I personally would love to see AirServer taking care of playback. For example i stream video from my iPad and AirServer would slide down or zoom in (nice animation Mac style) a video window (QT powered) with few custom controls. You know it's much more slick than opening external app.

I can't believe there are no reviews of this yet. So far this has been the best implementation of 'AirPlay' on OS X I have tried (compared to AirPlayer at least-- albeit that one is free). While the first couple of versions were a bit buggy, the program has since become much more stable and works like a charm. Also, the developer has been very active with pushing out feature-rich updates. I love using this on my mac mini media server, which is always running plex. Airserver and Plex play nice together, which was really important for me. I think the dev should definitely put out a demo version so that people can see how great this app is.
