Really good idea. Could be a bit more improved, and the overall graphics" could be more polished and Leopard-friendly. But I love it. Thank you ! By the way, there is a glitch : the "inbox" tab stays in front of every window, even when the Mail windows is closed (but the app is still opened). Any idea ?

Great plugin, but... I'm using Mail.app 4.5 on Snow Leopard with the classic 3-pane interface: folders on the left, headers on top-right, message body in bottom-right. With MailTabs installed, the header pane's height keeps creeping up as tabs get created and closed.

I've gotten so used to this thing, I couldn't go back now if I wanted to. Great little bundle!

There are some visual glitches (horizontal lines over mailboxes) and bugs when windows are minimized, but the updates seem to be coming out quickly and this is a a very promising new plugin. I already find it indispensable.

The minimized-to-Dock bug remains in v0.6. But still, there are many improvements with v0.6. This Mail plug-in is definitely turning into a must-have. :)

Mail Tabs is great for reducing clutter. I use it with MailHub and Letterbox on a big screen to fly through my huge inbox. That said, Mail Tabs would be even better if the tabs were just for the "Preview Pane" so that you could still see your Mailboxes and Messages at the same time. I look forward to seeing this plug-in develop.

I'm really liking this plugin but I have one big problem with it. If it crashes it forgets all the tabs that were open. There needs to be something in place to remember position. Please fix. By the way, once all the bugs get nailed out I would be more than happy to purchase this. My feature requests are listed below :)

I use MailTabs in conjunction with all those other Maibundles: GrowlMail, Letterbox, MailUnreadMenu, SpamSieve, and everything works beautifully! I only wish the tabs would be a bit more larger, a la Safari, and they remembered positions between Mail relaunches. Other than that, perfect for my needs.

I use MailHub and Letterbox (two other Mail plugins) and this doesn't work together with them.

Overall I really like this. I have no idea why apple hasn't done this already. The only thing I wish was here is some preferences. For example I wish I had the ability to have tabs open to the right of the current tab not to the absolute right. Another feature which would be nice is to have Mail's left column to appear all the time regardless which tab you are on. Makes it easier to navigate.

Glad to see keyboard shortcuts coming. I would love it if I could have two viewer windows open: One with my sidebar and inbox, and the other with my open tabbed emails. This would be great for a multi-screen environment.

The only thing missing on my Mail! Now with MailTabs, Herald and LetterBox it's perfect. Note 5 stars since you cannot _yet_ control to open or not in a tab and not switch from tab to a child window. A small bug on my system, when sending an email, the Mail app disappear then appear again (less than a second but a bit scary ;-) ) Anyway I do recommend this app a lot! Thanks to the developers!

Found yet another bug: If you compose a new message, which appears as a discrete tab, the message is lost, if you close the window, i.e. Mail.app's prompt to save the message in your draft folder is overridden. This should definitely be addressed. Another possibility could also be user preferences, e.g. the possibility to always open new messages being composed in a new window instead of a new tab. Furthermore: I'm not sure if tab-dragging is working 100%. A suggestion: It would be great to ALT-click on a mailbox folder (inbox, local boxes, sent messages etc.) which then opens as an additional tab. (CMD-click doesn't work, because it's apparently reserved for selecting.)

This is a great concept! I'm not fond of the execution in this particular app. It is free, but at the current iteration, it should be. Here are a few things that would make this ready for a 1.0 release state. 1) Keep the side bar when you add a tab 2) Allow double clicking (e.g. Safari) in the bar to compose a new message. This would open a new tab and then it would be ready for a new message. This is a WONDERFUL addition to this program! I hate it when I begin an email only to have to find the window later because I had to change what I was doing for a minute. 3) Add a preference pane like Herald or Mailtags or etc . . . This would be critical for allowing the management of the plugin. 4) Keyboard shortcuts to switch between tabs These are just a few. This plugin has GREAT potential. I love the idea. Now just tweak it a bit and start charging $5.00. Thanks!

Excellent addition to MAIL. A "OneTrick Pony" but a useful trick indeed. I also use "Letterbox", "Flagit!", and "Rocketbox".

Actually it makes Mail.app more like Thunderbird, which is tres cool! MailTabs is really nice: clean; simple and stable. Too bad Apple didn't think of it! This app is a true winner for Mail. I recommend YOU get it it; YOU won't regret it!

Works okay, but looks really old style. Could you please also bundle an uninstaller with the DMG?
