Lock browser tabs.

Overview

TabLock is a safari extension that provides the ability to lock your tabs, discretely distinguishing locked from unlocked tabs.

If you accidentally try to close a locked tab, TabLock will prompt you, giving you the opportunity to keep the tab open.

It's a really useful way to protect form information, or a loading video.

The developer's site is unreachable as is the link for the extension. Can find it here -- amongst other places: http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/TabLock-Download-94482.html

Thank you! You don't know how many times my twitchy fingers have lost me a tab or three. A note: it seems this extension only applies to new tabs created after installation, at least on my machine. I had to close out all tabs and reopen them for the locking to work. A suggestion: is there a way to have a "soft lock", where the tab itself is locked, but not to its current page? Sometimes I lock a tab purely for to preserve that tab's page history, and right now if I want to use that tab again, I have to unlock it, navigate forward or backward, and re-lock it. Would be nice if there's a mode where it just warned me if a soft-locked tab might be closed.

Great idea, but it doesn't work on my system (10.6.7). Safari extended with: GreaseKit / Safari Cookies, Saft / Extensions: SafariRestore, Turn Off the Lights, Ultimate Status Bar, BackTrack, Close All Tabs, ExifExt, Exposer, Linkify, Old Google Image Search, Translate, Type-To-Navigate, Defacer, Placemarker, PopSearch, SCC, Google Maps Scroll Zoom, Deanimator, NoMoreiTunes, Translation Window, Stop/Reload Button, Pelotero, Incognito… and TabLock of course.

You should try disabling your extensions to see if it's a conflict. Then turn them back on one-by-one and see which one(s) is the problem.
