Seriously people ? This app does exactly what you want it to do, is incredibly easy to use, queue's up multiple downloads for you, and for $10 (or 3 latte's) will run extra fast. WTF is wrong w you people. How about a THANK YOU to the developers.

Sorry.

I bought this app a couple of years ago. It works well, but a year or so ago the developer a) made the app free then b) purposefully crippled the app's speed unless you pay $10/year subscription for "Speed Boost".

Obnoxious.

We haven't limited free version of YouTube to MP3. All functions, except TurboBoost are free and are not crippled.
We have found the way to download audio faster and added new algorithm (TurboBoost) on subscription base. It will allow us to continue development, while YouTube changes its structure.
Another algorithm (Boost), which allows to download audio without downloading whole video file, is quick. And allows to download music faster then most of other programs (especially on HD videos).

And we are constantly publishing codes for TurboBoost in facebook.

The point I'm making is that I *PAID* for this app, and now that it's "free" my transfers are being slowed down unless I pay an additional yearly fee.

As for your giving away Facebook codes, so what? The one you just posted only uncripples the app for less than one month.

Our app never been paid, so I don't understand how you bought it couple of years ago. We've accepted donations few years ago and send free code to all donators. If you did not received yours contact us via email.

Yes, I donated a few years ago, but never saved a record of it since donating didn't come with a code at the time. Either I never got an email from Mediahuman with a code or if I did I assumed it was spam and ignored it. Don't know which email I used, and PayPal Account Statements are only available for the last 3 months. So, all I know is that the app I donated to is now is speed-crippled and filled with ads.

Easy to use to extract audio from YouTube. Fast, simple interface. Works flawlessly so far, using Firefox or Chrome. Select the URL of the video and drag it into the box, then click the download arrow. Helped me out in a pinch for a podcast. Thank you!

I tried this several times, but it's useless for me. This app always downloads the highest quality. I wish I could select the video quality I want. I want to download 240 or Mobile. My dialup is slow and I'm interested in preachings (spoken word). For that I don't need the highest quality. So for now I will continue to use DownloadHelper in Firefox and then extract the audio with MPEG Streamclip.

Um this app is not for downloading video. Its purpose is to convert YouTube videos to MP3.

Well, what exactly does it? I'm only interested in the audio from YouTube files. I gave it a YT address and it started to download a 200 MB file (where I stopped). Certainly not the audio only. Then I downloaded the same video (flv, 50 MB) with Firefox and extracted the audio from it with MPEG streamclip, it was 24 MB. So why 200 MB? I imagine this app downloads the highest quality video file and then extracts on the Mac the audio.

This app does a great job of downloading audio from youtube videos -- which is what it claims to do, i.e. it works as advertised. In other words it strips the audio from the video as it downloads, and then just the audio component is saved to disk.

To change the size and quality (bit rate and file type) of the downloaded file, go to preferences and change them. That's what they're there for.

Didn't know that there was an app for this, I used to use video2mp3 which was loooong! To be honest at the start I was slightly skeptical about this but thought I'd give it a try as I've just made a youtube playlist cause I couldn't find anyway of getting the songs by other means apart from crappy quality off the other site.
Happy to say it paid off :) it worked well enough and put me in a good enough mood to make an account and write a review, which I have literally never done before. I can't say for it's stability as I've only just got it but it doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it so far, just everything right.

Ease of use: 10/10
Quality of songs on itunes: 10/10
Value: 10/10

Would I recommend it? Yep.

I have a little question (by time!):
"Can I be sure that the resulting file is the smallest 'lossless' that I can have starting by the .flv file?"
Get Tube downloads whatever at 192 kB/", a bit optimistic, perhaps, other at 64 the same file…
This of the 'minimum LOSSLESS conversion is an unanswered issue also for .jpg and .mp4 files by YEARS!
