If I now simply remove Host Manager from my OS 10.6.8 iMac, will all its functionality disappear too (like a normal app would), or would there be lingering issues? I know this is no longer supported, that's exactly why I need to know the answer to this question.

Simple and intuitive, but honestly nothing you couldn't do in a few seconds by hand. I'd love to see more functionality like the one HostsMan provides for Windows (syncing AdBlock and Malware hosts providers): http://www.abelhadigital.com/hostsman

Can this be used to easily block a certain domain? How, I know nothing about this stuff? Thanks.

Exactly. It's quite easy - enter the domain you want to block as Host Name and enter 127.0.0.1 (that is your local system) as IP address. Done.
