Clear duplicated tracks from your iTunes Library.

Overview

iTunes Duplicates Cleaner... is an easy and efficient tool for cleaning duplicated tracks in iTunes Library.

If you have hundreds of music songs and podcasts in your library and most of them are duplicated for some reason, it'll be horrible to delete the duplicates manually by yourself. With iTunes Duplicates Cleaner, such a scutwork will be done automatically with just 3 single clicks. iTunes Duplicates Cleaner can find the duplicated tracks depending on many conditions, including the track title, track artist, track album, track file extension, also file size (not available to podcasts). And it will sort the finding result into groups by the conditions you defined.

Not ready for the show. Ran it on a folder with 3085 songs and it said 3043 of them were duplicates. I had all possible preferences set including file sizes and it flagged songs with completely different sizes as being duplicates. Publisher should consider allowing all options on during demo, but a limited library size or trial period. As it is, the demo is worth little more than a screenshot would be.

This software was stolen from Dupe Away (created by Macroplant, of which I'm a developer for). Note the obvious similarities all the way down to the icon and website. http://www.macroplant.com/dupeaway/. Bury this program.

Good gosh, yes...the same logo (less a color & direction change). This is pathetic. AVOID THIS LEECH!! (And Dupe Away is cheaper, anyhow!!) /

I am wondering the difference between this and the duplicates finder in MacKeeper so why is it necessary. I am not sure how albulms work when you have duplicate items do you end up with part albums even tho you have each 'song' tho in different playlists or is it intuitive keeping a / each version that still exists in the album. I should clarify I have never bought from Itunes Various courses I've downloaded open up there . Whilst this comment may have its place under Mac Keeper I had looked at this app incase it gave me answers to above and thought the comparison of features of use to others here.

Most of my MP3 files were listed as dublicates! 4900 of 5000! But i can see they all have same name and have same path. So why those should be dublicates?! They are all unique files.

I'll get ragged on again for digression, but here's one main reason this software even exists. Apple sold us 128 kbps songs, then had us pay extra to upgrade them to 256 kbps songs. When you upgrade, it leaves your old version (why?) so you have to use "get info" to delete it. Then when you check for missing downloaded songs, it downloads your 128 kbps songs again. If Apple and iTunes were not so idiotic in how THEY handle this situation, this duplication software would have little market. FURTHER, I have often download the same song multiple times because Apple and iTunes have a primitive comparison algorithm that is my opinion encourages this sort of error. Why does such a smart company, with such huge profit margins, and SO much cash in the bank, still feel the need to rip-off clients who have stayed with them since the SE/30 days?????

You can't charge $15 for a program that just speeds up something you can do natively with iTunes with the show duplicates option. It's a good program, but I personally think it's way overpriced. Should be free or a maximum of $2.

Please be fair to Doug (he also.wrote Dupin, which is much more accurate and powerful than Super Remove Dead Tracks): his scripts are downloadable for free, but if you find yourself actually using his tons of apps and scripts, it's only fair that you send him his modest shareware suggestions. He may code out of the love of creating, but everyone deserves remuneration for good work--and he does keep it up to date, too. EOR!
