Worked for about 1 month, and never worked again for ANY streaming video. Do not buy.

Not worth the trouble. This app decides for itself when it wants to be in Demo mode or Activated mode. I have a valid license bought via Macupdate, but at least half the time it starts in Demo mode.

Hulu streams with RTMPE and uses SWF verification whereas Jaksta captures HTTP and RTMP live streams, maybe if you had read the documentation before buying you would have researched and known this.

I had been using Jaksta for years on a pc before I bought a mac and started to use the mac version and some sites now employ protection on their sites which Jaksta and other companies had to stop circumventing due to legal action from Adobe.

Some sites are using RTMPE and SWF verification to stop copyrighted material from being downloaded so your best bet would be to learn how to use RTMPDUMP from the command line and try this on certain heavily protected material.

I use StreamTransport which is windows only for RTMPE live and recorded streams, windows seems to have a better collection of Apps to d/load than Mac.

Try this site for some advice and tips on which software to use, http://bit.ly/1jFZIYg

I usually write reviews to support a good product but I am very disappointed by Jaksta. It rarely works. out of 6 different times where i wanted to download movies (on YouTube or else where) 4 times Jaksta failed and other FREE programs worked (MacTube as far as i remember).

Try toggling the "Always Record HTTP" and "Always Record RTMP" settings to see if that works for you. You might also try changing Minimum Download and Duration settings. FWW. My minimum download size is set to 300kb, minimum duration is 10 seconds, and 4 simultaneous downloads. Always record HTTP/RTMP are unchecked and filter known advert servers is checked. I have not had Jaksta fail in a long time.

Is MU a little late in listing this update? I already have 1.3.3 installed and must have installed it several weeks ago.

Does this app really record *streaming* video? Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo are not streaming. They're stored video files that are accessed and downloaded. Several other apps perform this function.

Using Jaksta, a Vimeo movie was accessed and downloaded, but when I went to the streaming video of Apple's 2013 WWDC Keynote, Jaksta didn't respond (I'm using it in demo mode).

Jaksta also didn't respond to videos on the Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee site.

I get the feeling that Jaksta doesn't record streaming content at all - only stored video files. If so, the apps description should be changed.

I had found that the program was 'hit and miss' with what it could deliver in the way of results. Also, inconsistent results with only partials of the video stream downloaded was another issue I saw. The program is not quite ready was my impression.

Not true. Both iTubeX and VideoBox do too.

The Jaksta advertising copy seems to overstate the capabilities of the software as part of the sales pitch. Just visit their forums and read some of the disappointing comments from their users. It seems to me that some frank copy with factual content about what the programs strengths and limitations are would be a better approach. Honesty is still the best policy.
