View 3D visualizations of USB Kinect depth data.

Overview

Kinect 3D Viewer allows you to plug your USB Kinect into your computer and view a 3D visualization of the depth data.

You can also map RGB values onto the depth image.

Additionally, you can zoom and rotate the visualization.

Kinect Viewer is based on the hard work of the people from OpenKinect. Visit them at openkinect.org * This app is not affiliated with the openkinect group *

Please excuse the horrendous icon :)

Now MacUpdate is listing things which are only available through the app store?? Odd, as many people don't use the App store and use MU instead.* *I for one.

Agreed. If a developer wants to develop ONLY for the Mac Store I don't see why they should be listed in MacUpdate. Those of us who have different reasons for not wanting to use the Mac App Store (privacy, running an earlier version of the OS, no free .mac account, etc) shouldn't be bothered with this. Maybe a Mac App Store category that can be filtered? Also, if the Kinect drivers are distributed via the GPL doesn't releasing an app with that code at MAS break the license thanks to the DRM at MAS?

@Theguy: Not necessarily. Unlike with iOS, the developers can also offer the same application outside the store.
