Great idea, just one problem -- it needs to be a Safari Extension, not a program that runs all the time in the background.

Yeah, plus Glims will do tons more, and in the background. Granted, this is free, but Glims beats it hands down.

I second Chas_m request. There's a need fot this but a Safari extension would be best. If it's possible, extension seems like the way to go for something like this. Glims has a lot of features but I don't need them. Plugins are a real pain everytime Safari gets an update.

I am working on a Safari extension to do this. This was just a quick fix for me...since I find Safari's download window SO annoying. Thanks for the feedback though.
