Chicken is based on Chicken of the VNC, but contains a number of bug fixes and some additional features.

As with Chicken of the VNC, Chicken features a full-screen mode, saving passwords in Keychain, mouse-button emulation for one-button mice, and many more options.

I used CotVNC back in the day, before Apple's own Screen Sharing became useable. I'm back on CotVNC now because I can full screen VNC into a machine running 10.6. Why do I need to do this? I have ONE just ONE application I need that is PPC. I could upgrade at $$$ but why?

One very minor nit: the keyboard commands to go full screen / windowed on the current beta aren't sticky. But thats very minor.

If you do use CotVNC instead of ScreenSharing don't forget you eed to put a VNC password into the ScreenSharing Preference pane on the host machine.

It's great to see a an actively-maintained branch of CotVNC. It has some nice improvements over the original (while keeping the unbeatable price).

Compared to Jolly, I find that

a) Lack of connection via SSH to the server.
b) No auto scroll in the window mode.
c) Supports transferring some hot keys to the server, for instance, changing spaces, etc. It is convenient in some cases.

I am unable to connect to (jailbroken with VNC added) iOS Apple TV -- anyone have config settings which allow this to work? JollysFastVNC does, however. TIA!

First, what VNC server are you using on the Apple TV? Second, what exactly happens when you try to connect with Chicken? Does it give you an error message? Have you checked the log file?

I don't have an Apple TV, so I'm not sure I can debug this issue, but let me try with a couple more questions: Does it work in Chicken of the VNC? Is it always -1 in the error message? Is the connection window always black when you get the error, or does it ever bring up the screen before erroring out?

You should get one -- a lot of potential for $99 HW! ;-)
Well, it connects fine with both RealVNC Viewer on Mac also, but that has some control issues.

Chicken of the VNC connects just fine, just tried Chicken again and get a Protocol error... Connection screen IS always black.
