As far as I can tell, the MacBook EFI Update hasn't been modified recently. I pulled down a fresh copy and the pkg file has an 11/7/14 1:54 AM modification date stamp.

Huh? This EFI Firmware update is from January, 2012. It's not new. You can read about it here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1480?locale=en_US Maybe MU is catching up with listing the v2.1 update on their site? Anyway, this is old stuff.

We apologize for the confusion that could've occur! We updated the listing to the most recent version and it got bumped to the top of the homepage. We updated it when we became aware of this newer version.

Worked like a charm. You must load this first before the SMC update.

It is not noted in any of the documentation that this does not apply to a MACBOOK2,1. I have a macbook, 2 gig dual core and the update is not for it. This update is not for machook 2006 or early 2007; only from later 2007 and forward. it would be nice if this was documented.

After installing the firmware update, my USB ports are now extremely slow. Printing a color page takes 20 minutes... scanning fails... and my TV Mini HD device won't even start up.
