Apple MacBook EFI Firmware Update enables Lion Recovery from an Internet connection on MacBook (Mid 2010) models.

The MacBook EFI Firmware Update will update the EFI firmware on your notebook computer. Your computer's power cord must be connected and plugged into a working power source. When your MacBook restarts, a gray screen will appear with a status bar to indicate the progress of the update. It will take several minutes for the update to complete. Do not disturb or shut off the power on your MacBook during this update.

Huh? This EFI Firmware update is from January, 2012. It's not new. You can read about it here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1480?locale=en_US Maybe MU is catching up with listing the v2.1 update on their site? Anyway, this is old stuff.

As far as I can tell, the MacBook EFI Update hasn't been modified recently. I pulled down a fresh copy and the pkg file has an 11/7/14 1:54 AM modification date stamp.
