A punishment is exactly what it sounds like: a penalty for breaking down and having a cigarette.
When you feel the urge to smoke, ask Kick the Habit to give you a distraction to help focus your mind on something else. If you do break down and smoke, ask Kick the Habit for a punishment and be prepared to accept your fate.
