Usage meter for Internode.

Overview

NodeToad is a usage meter for the Australian Internet Service Provider Internode, written in cocoa for Mac OS X versions 10.4 or later (including Snow Leopard).

This program has been designed to run in the menubar and to display ADSL data usage, NodePhone (VOIP) usage, as well as providing links to Internode websites and a built-in radio player to listen to quota free streaming radio stations.

NodeToad is completely customisable, so you can have just text in the menu bar (such as % of total quota used), an icon, or a whole range of different menu widgets.

I have just downloaded and installed the latest update to NodeToad being 3.3.3 on the advice of an automated service that lets me know when updates are released. Imagine my surprise and anger at this wonderful previously free software now being charged at $10. I have no issue with the authors charging for their work providing they make it very clear there are changed conditions for the updated App. No such advice was given and only after the update did I notice a very small 14 day notice at the bottom right of the tiny screen. This is misleading and deceptive behaviour and deserves censure. There should be a clear choice given during the install process instead of a rude surprise after the event! Gary Green Canberra
