It duplicates function already included with standard Airport indicator in Menu Bar. Just OPTION CLICK on Airport icon and voila, you'll get detailed information about every aspect of you WiFi connection, including connection speed. You may also try Wi-Fi Diagnostics application if you need constant monitoring. It is hidden in /System/Library/CoreServices/.

Too bad it only works for the Apple Airport, not USB antennas. This should be noted in the description. I've been using a USB due to connection and signal strength issues with my MacBook Pro's Airport.

Needs Lion. Won't work on 10.6.8.
