InDesign tool for creating optimized print outs.

Overview

PageMapper... When you receive PDF files from your customers, you will need to create impositions of these files. Or even center these PDF files on a sheet of paper, to optimize output, regardless if they have a bleed area or cropmarks. Your output or prepress people have to take care of all these files, to make sure they are output in the most optimal way.

Some companies use very complicated and expensive software for this task, others use InDesign to manually impose these supplied PDF files to printable files.

But now there is an alternative: PageMapper.

PageMapper will analyze the supplied PDFs, and use InDesign to create printable, optimized output, in a matter of seconds!

What's new in PageMapper

Version 1.1.0:
  • Added support for InDesign CS5 (and dropped support for CS2)
  • Added support for up to 8 pages
  • Added support for automatically filling a template
  • Added binding method \"Cut & Stack\"
  • Added sample templates for most binding methods
  • Changed the interface \"a little\" to select templates & set the rotation
  • Added some preferences for switching to InDesign when done, automatically selecting CMYK colors after adding files & resetting after imposing
  • When there are not enough pages, they can automatically be added and imposing no longer stops.
  • Added selection of multiple pages, to easily remove multiple pages at once
  • Added keyboard shortcuts:
  • Add PDF = Command + A
  • Remove Page = Command + R
  • Add empty page = Command + E
  • Go to the Imposition Settings = Command + I
  • Move pages up or down in the list = Command + Arrow Up or Arrow Down

Generally, one does not charge several hundred dollars for "My First RealBasic Program", which is certainly what this looks like. I don't like typically like discouraging new developers, but this is absurd for a crude one-trick pony such as this.
