Could be really good but the fastest it can do weather updates is every 45 minutes. This makes it much less useful for me...fix that and it's nearly perfect.

I really like this menubar app and all the options it offers, have used it for some time. I don't have any of these complaints, and most have to do with your maitenance of your own machine. And fixes start with, Dump the preferences file. Who knows what else you are or are not doing. Never seen it hang. But I am tired of seeing small devs trashed here. Really tired of it. Get a life. Email him privately, this is a review site.

Paid for it then used CleanApp to delete every associated file. Total rubbish. Constant beach ball - not for me and can not recommend it.

Well, well. Just dumped this app and installed Seasonality Core. No more spinning beach ball, no more hangs and my computer is flying. Why the hell did I fall for this terrible, awful application. Don't go near this app. It is a CPU hog and a disaster constantly using bandwidth - searching, searching, searching....

In cases like this where you cannot see how to stop an app, go to Apps>Utilities>Activity Monitor>My Processes and find the running app. Select and press STOP.
Just a general tip… as I did not know of it for a long time.

Installed it yesterday on iMac 27" late 2009, newest OS. Compared several locations close to each other up here in Northern Norway. Difference in temperature almost 10 degrees C, local weather service survey only +/- 1 degree. Wanted to change location and the app ended up spinning in menue bar. Could not be terminated any more, had to delete and reboot... Not a Mac like experience. A pity, the first impression was not bad.

Solid weather program but it only updates weather data once every 45 minutes (or less often). This is ridiculous as weather changes much faster than that. Need to add update intervals to 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, and 60 minutes as a minimum. Good program other than that glaring omission.

I've been using Menuweather for awhile (replaced "Metologist" which was great but not updated). I mostly use it just to see the outside temperature and forecasts. But, right now I am sitting in my apartment in New York City waiting for the onset of one of the worst hurricanes in recent history, and Menuweather reports "light showers, overcast, cool, wind 19 mph". WTF?

MenuWeather is telling me it is 9 Deg C outside - the Australian Bureau of Meteorology AND Weatherzone are both teling me it is 4 Deg C outside. You guys are more than 100% out in your readings of current conditions. Your forecasts are totally unreliable and you can't even get the current conditions right. You have got to change your source of information - it is just made up. These are not readings from any reliable weather monitoring service. Others can get these readings right, why can't MenuWeather?

This program is a memory hog, using 80 MB of RAM and that when not even looking at maps. This is crazy. I'm not saying it is poorly written because that would require information that i don't have. And of course the trend in all consumer software is to use gobs of RAM. But that doesn't change the fact that this is a memory hog.

Otherwise, the program is very nicely laid out, easy to use, and puts up more information than some others.

That said, I've switched my "always on" weather program to WeatherSimple which gives me just the information I normally need (current conditions, abbreviated four-day forecast, and two other cities, and uses 1/4 the RAM.

Yesterday it could not find Puerto Penasco, Mexico and it crashed loosing its settings. Today it works just fine! You asked if i could send report from the app, but it reports:
"Error submitting your feedback to the server. Error: The request timed out."
I have tried this many times with the same result.
It also seems to freeze the OS when it has trouble updating.

I love the speed improvement. There is a problem after waking up from sleep though. The app freezes with the spinning beach ball when hovering the icon, and the only way to quit is to kill the process.

MenuWeather freezes a second or two after waking up, so I'm even able to open the menu before it hangs.

MenuWeather was also using 3+ GB of RAM on my Mac Pro.

You all should also check your "~/Library/Application Support/MenuWeather/MenuWeather.log" files. Mine was 1.05GB in size...

I've stopped using MenuWeather for now, as these bugs are very troubling.

I downloaded v2.1.2 and installed it on my Mac Pro (MacPro1,1, Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 6GB RAM). As the previous poster stated, upon launch, the app freezes and there is no way to pull down the menu.
Furthermore, Activity Monitor shows 100% CPU use. Horrible.

Was impatient to try out this new version. However, when it launches, and after asking me if I allow it to use my current location, it just puts the temperature in the Menubar and hangs, consuming 100% of the CPU, and not giving access to the menu. I tried to delete all the preferences and associated files, but it does not change anything.

Can you open the Info.plist file in the App bundle (control click on the app and show package contents) then change myDebug to true, then open Console (Application/Utilities/) and run MenuWeather. Then search menuweather in Console and copy and paste everything into an email to evan@evancoleman.net
