1.2
17 December 2011

Dashboard widget for citations in APA format (was QuickCite).

Overview

CitationBuddy (formerly QuickCite) is an amazing Dashboard widget that generates APA citations on the fly. Literally type in a sentence of a book and you have yourself a citation. It is powered by Google Books, so most books will be there. For more accurate results (volume or edition) type in the UPC or ISBN. Great stuff on the way for this little widget. Visit http://www.philllware.com/CitationBuddy/ and hit the like button to support us and drop us a line right at the bottom. We want to hear from you and how you're using the widget and what we should do to improve It's performance. Thank you all for participating in the beta testing.

Thank you to all who participated in the beta testing. Enjoy your new widget.

Keep up the feedback!

Can't use -- it won't install properly. It comes with with a yellow "sticky note" covering the upper left corner, saying there's an update and asking if I want to update or not. However, there are no buttons on the "sticky note", so I can't dismiss it or update, and there's just a spinner in the lower right corner of the left-side column.

Okay, we're gonna run some tests on the G5 and on a 10.4 I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience. Our team is working it. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. -Phill

http://www.philllware.com/CitationBuddy/ This is the official website for CitationBuddy. Here you can always find the latest version of our products. Unfortunately, we don't have any real control over third party websites. We try and keep MacUpdate updated because it is a great website. If you downloaded it from here, it appears that MacUpdate does have the latest version of CitationBuddy (1.2). We may end up releasing a version for Tiger if we can. We ran ran a test on a PowerMac QuadCore G5 Running Mac OS:X 10.5 and the widget performed as expected. I realize that this is one operating system ahead of the one you're running at the moment, but this rules out any issues that may stem from a PPC machine. Our guess is that it may have something to do with the extensive use of Web-Kit tech that we utilize and Apple plugins. If you can, please check that you have the latest version of Safari installed and if you don't please install it and give it another try. Meanwhile, we'll keep testing.
