Remember is a to-do list application, focused on being straightforward and non- disruptive. We don't believe in clunky applications where task management itself becomes a task. Remember is a simple list of tasks, always available at your fingertips.

In its most basic form, Remember is a simple list of tasks. If you need more than that, you can add folders to arrange things in a way that makes more sense.

There may be times when you're working on a specific project and don't need to see the other stuff. Use the Focus pop-up menu or click the arrow button next to a folder

Very simple to use, efficient, and effectively helps you keep track of your must do items. Another most useful app from Lighthead software- the makers of the equally handy (for me) Caffeine. Both are Free! And, both deserve accolades for simplicity, and being incredibly practical and convenient. Apple really should incorporate Remember into their operating system, actually. Thanks, Lighthead folks! Please note: I am using Lion, and it still works great. Keeping my fingers crossed that it work on Mountain Lion, as well!

Basically, I finally upgraded to Lion (since writing my review below)… and actually I can't use it all… weird behavior of not adding stuff correctly, then it just freezes, so I have to force quit… very said… I only used it for the passing of a season, now it's no longer usable.

Tried it for a couple of days. Very thoughtfully designed and the look and feel is nice.

Some problems:

I cannot set the hotkeys in the preference. I've tried every thinkable combination of keys, but it only shows an empty "alert" window, and the keys are not saved.

While entering a Japanese text in Remember, it listens too aggressively to the "Enter key down" event. The Enter (return) key is used by the Japanese input frontend to accept a conversion of the typed phonetic characters to the proper display characters. So pressing Enter key should only insert the composed phrase into the text field and allow further composition while the user is typing in Japanese.
I hope you can update Remember so that Enter key presses are accepted (either to finish naming the task or to create a new task) only when a Japanese phrase is not currently being composed, as otherwise it is rather frustrating.
I'm not a programmer so maybe I'm being off the point, but it seems like you should not be listening to the key down event but to the actual carriage-return characters to be inserted into the text field.

Cheers,

Mac OS 10.7.3

Excellent! Looking for something with exactly this footprint and features and snappy open-close action!
You can have it stay in the menu only (or dock as well) and map hotkeys to "show/hide" AND to make a new reminder. The automatic 'date recognition' worked fine the first two times I've used it. Though, I wish it deleted the 'date' and not just the modifier: I wrote "update xxxx by Monday" and it sets an alarm? maybe of some sort I guess (haven't played with changing that) and leaves the Task title as "update xxxx Monday", so it just deletes the 'modifier word' or whatever you like to call it, and puts a # of days countdown timer across from the title (so from today it says [4]).
Still 5/5 overall!
(I'm on 10.6 90% of the time so I can't comment the bug JBX mentions below.

Nice to-do list app... I've tried them all. This is the simplest best one I have found for my use. I like that it can be hot keyed, or in the menu bar. Lightweight is very important as I keep this running 90% of the time.

Would like to be able to change the font color & size for folders, or maybe just have them bolded.

actually I just found a problem with attaching to the menu bar (in Lion 10.7.2)... after a while it seem that I can't click icon to close the window. Still using this though... maybe stick to hot keying it.

I like this App. Clean and easy interface and the Folder/Group structure gives a really good overview.
Please support iCal sync and dragging todo's between folders in the future! - That'll make it a 5 star app.

I use Remember so several months now and I'm very satisfied. Its clean and easy, does what it says, you can have it in the menu bar or in the dock and the design is quite cool.
After all it's free...

Too bad the 1.1 update doesn't fix the Exposé issues.. When the main window is being resized by Exposé, it becomes invisible (see-through).

I've seen this happen once or twice. Unfortunately, it's a bug in OS X, so there's not much we can do about it.

Thanks,

I must say, after using this for just a day, it is very lightweight, unobtrusive, intuitive and fast. I actually use Things for my major task management, but this is nice for quickly jotting down a bunch of subtasks that need to be done immediately.

Things is great for larger stuff, but at times it can be a little much for super-quick, on-the-fly kind of stuff of which I don't need a record, or syncing to my iPhone. That's where Remember comes into play.

The one phrase that keeps repeating in my head is intuitively fast. Perfecto!

I will rate it once I use it for longer. Ciao for now.

Here it says that this application is free. However, a buy and activate function is built into application. Which one is right? Thanks. Fariborz AMIRSHAHI - Verona (Italy)

Hi,

The very first build had some activation stuff still in it. This has been removed in the latest version. Sorry for this; Remember is indeed free.

Alas, after installing, I cannot open it, since it gives me the spinning wheel and then crashes. I'm using a MacBook Pro 1.83 (32 bit) w/ Mac OS 10.6.3.

Maybe it's a bug and the developer can fix it. Alas, I tried to mail (several times, different email accounts) the developer to info@lightheadsw.co, but the message could not be delivered due to spam issues.

I apologize for these email problems. I have not enabled any anti-spam software, and according to my provider, anti-spam is turned off. I'd appreciate if you could forward me the bounced email you got back, so I can determine the problem. You should be able to reach me at tomas@lighthead.info. Thank you!
