Come on, this type of app has been done many times before. Plus, you need to install a third party app to make it work? (i've always had limited successwith Macfuse) Oh and "we're making the website this weekend"?? All in all it seems quite unprofessional.

Tried my license code, and it doesn't work. Called their tech support line and was told that there is an upgrade fee (from a 1.x version to a 1.x version!). Tried to explain to the lady on the other end that upgrade fees are usually charged when there's a major update, say 1.x to 2.0, but she didn't seem to get it. She said that there were a "couple" of new features and lots of bug fixes. Wow, not willing to part with my money for mostly bug fixes. Sorry, but I'll pass.

Sheesh I meant to post a reply here rather than in the much earlier thread. Here is my comment: I realize my comment may not be a lot of help but my original free registration works perfectly well with this current version. I had an active registered, earlier version, copy of the app in my Applications Folder and ran the 1.821 mpkg install package and my registration was retained. If you make use of the app then I would suggest trying to reach support again and not give up quite yet. Now that I re-read your comment it sounds as if you did not have any registered version active on your machine. Perhaps you could try installing an earlier version that accepted your registration and the run the 1.821 mpkg. Might work.

Perhaps you came across this app recently. For months the developer(s) gave away a free license for this app and extended that offer to December 1. The only requirement was to register the offered serial number before that time to obtain all future updates/upgrades at no cost.

Uninstalling MacFuse is a straightforward procedure, like dumping it in the trash?

A better way to uninstall MacFuse would be to use the "Remove MacFuse" button on the MacFuse preferences pane in System Preferences.

They also screwed up and included the 32-bit prefpane, instead of the 64-bit one: http://content.wuala.com/contents/grahamperrin/public/2010/07/31/a/MacFUSE.prefPane-2.0-64-bit-2009-09-10.zip?dl=1

Great app. Works just fine. And it's for free ('till December)? That's terrific! I don't know how it could get any better. I very much appreciate the time and effort the developer has put into this app. Keep up the good work! Thanks so very much.

The 'Check For Updates' function doesn't work. The 'Help' page is non-existent (online). Could do with some tidy-up of the various splash screens (and reduce them to two, or one!). Typos in app need fixing, too - the Welcome Screen has 'Reval in Finder'. The 'About Phone Disk' screen says that my copy is 'registed'. but hey, it's free...

Gotta love MacFuse. This is a MacFuse plugin that adapts the iPhone / iPod Touch as an external storage device using the MacFuse architecture. The only real downside to MacFuse is that the developer group is not very active. The preferences panel and presumably the code is not 64 bit. Glad to be wrong...

There is a 64bit build here, http://caurea.org/2009/09/15/unofficial-macfuse-release-for-64bit-kernels/ I've used it for months. Works great, seems rock solid to me.

Very nice app. And for free (till September)? That's Great! One thing though. The ‘Applications' folder, the ‘User' folder, and other folders show up as UNIX executable •files• rather than folders. You can't explore, or look through these files of course, and you should be able to. Am I doing something wrong? Oh well, still a very nice app. Thanks very much.

Nothing to say about this app- just that there is no reason, except for Apple's user-hostile arrogance, why what it does is not already a built-in feature of the iPhone and the MacOS. At the premium prices Apple charges for their hardware, they shouldn't be loading it with software that locks users out of half of that hardware's potential capabilites.

This is not a free application, but rather a shareware with a free demo. It should not be in the free category.

"We are giving away a free registration code that will be valid forever and even includes free upgrades. The only catch is that you must register the program within the next 6 months (before September 1, 2010). The registration code is as follows: 2H96A-QK7MX-8GEYK1V-ZR6S8" We will change this to shareware after September 1. For now it's free.

This looks like a promising app but I have a couple of question. This looks to be a lot like iPhone Explorer except you can automatically mount your iphone/touch. Since both products are very similar which one should I use? You make both products so I wonder if you are planning on scrapping iPhone Explorer for this? What advantages are there between both?

Great little utility, I can just dock my iPhone and it shows up on my desktop as a disk, no more getting a wireless connection going just to connect up to the iPhone. As for apps that use the folder structure, if you were fortunate enough to get GoodReader v2.3 or Image Viewer v 1.2.2 or below, these two apps can use them. Apple has forced these developers to remove the USB capabilities in the most recent versions! I've been able to upgrade GoodReader v2.6 and still can use the USB folders, so that is a good thing.

Nice little helper with a clean seamless integration. Also about 3 times faster than all the wireless solutions. Unfortunately there does not seem to be one single iPhone App which would allow access to the same structure or at least one single of all the listed folders :-(

Kudos for the free registration code. Two comments: 1) How come the registration window won't allow pasting the code but instead forces you to type it in? That's kinda unfriendly. 2) The menubar menu says "Perferences…", it should be "Preferences…" . Either you need a QA process, or your QA process ought to use a spellchecker
