Tracks 1.8.1 isn't new. It was released Oct 3rd 2011 in the Mac App Store.

Really good little app for Mac, specially if you use, 'cause it scrobble musics in the background ( and because of that you don't need to use that buggy software that crashes iTunes from time to time). You can search musics without needing to open iTunes. Try it out, i know that you'll like it. I just don't digged the price. It is expensive.

This is a sweet little app. No matter what I am doing on the computer I always have music playing in iTunes. Now, I can control it without opening every time I want to change songs, adjust volume, etc. If I never open iTunes, operating via keyboard shortcuts, as opposed to opening 50 times a day; I can only imagine how much time this saves me over the course of a year. It is worth 10 bucks. It is a bit high in memory usage, which is my only complaint.

I am a bit disappointed in the reviews I have read here. First of all, about the memory consumption, this is only relevant if you are running the application in 64 bit mode. To change to 32 bit right click-get info-and select run in 32 bit mode, this should reduce memory consumption by around 40-50 mb (crazy!). As for someone who works with final cut, Tracks is a huge help. If I am working on a project and want to here what a specific song would sound like with the scene, I just go to tracks and play the song without having to open the itunes window. In this since I find the application extremely useful and not a complete waist of money and time. Hope this helps anybody who is looking to buy. I mean no disrespect to other comments and reviews, this is just my opinion...

Way too much memory consumption.

Interface is almost a dread.

Cannot even click a song and play the entire album? Really only able to select a "track" to play at a time with Tracks?! Is that a joke?

It is worthless. No wonder being given away for free.
