GOOD NEWS! Meteorite can be successfully compiled on Yosemite!
I am happy to report that after spending the last eleven days exchanging email messages with the developer -- Erdem -- and conducting some online research, I have successfully compiled the Meteorite 0.11 source on an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.3.
I am not a programmer in any sense of the word, but through perseverance, and with Erdem's help, plus my own research, I was able to figure it out.
Basically, you need to download the Meteorite source code from Sourceforge, as well as make sure that you have both Apple's Xcode, as well as the wxWidgets library., installed on your machine.
Installing the latter was the trickiest part, due to a Yosemite-specific bug in the wxWidgets 3.0.2 source code. However, there is a very easy solution.
I have just emailed a DMG file to Erdem which includes a Yosemite-compatible version of Meteorite 0.11, as well as my two tutorials regarding how to build wxWidgets and Meteorite on a Yosemite machine.
Hopefully, Erdem will make the DMG available here on MacUpdate.com, or else on Sourceforge. We shall see.
Please do not ask me to email a copy of the DMG to you, because it is a 10 MB file, and I could easily use up a lot of my monthly bandwidth, if there are a lot of requests for the file. Thanks for understanding.
