I really like this app. It's a real gem. However, I wish it could read .MTS file format. I shoot freelance projects on spec. Skreenics offers a great solution for giving prospects a visual proof sheet of the video-clip. I utilize the header area to place a slug that includes my logo, site address and QR-Code that leads to my Paypal.me page.

This is quite a little gem. I actually thought it was for something else. I was looking for something to change the thumbnails of my videos. However, I really like what this tool does; it actually works better than what I was looking for. I like how it shows numerous frames, so that you get a preview of the entire video. Very nice :)

On some containers that one say that "file does not contain video track"

A great bit of software. Worked flawlessly with OS 10.6.8 Easy to use drag & drop interface quickly gives a preview thumbnail screen cap of any video. It is a one trick pony, but does that one trick exceedingly well. Been needing something like this to preview all the home movies the family has made over the years. Thanks to the developers for an easy to use program. Develop it as a plugin for other programs and they would have a real winner !

great start indeed. out of the box, it already supports a custom image width size (1920px for hd people) making high resolution screencaps (screen grabber is limited to 640px), batch processing of subfolders, background and font color options and it's pretty fast and stable. like the poster above, i made some suggestions to the author for more customizing power like choosing font face and size (on a 1920px image, the font is a bit small), more metadata display, option to show/hide subtitle rendering and show/hide/reposition elapsed time caption, skip first and last few minutes to skip credits frames, etc. despite the lack of video and audio metadata, it already replaced screen grabber for me, just because of the output image size. i also emailed the author about a bug that when you enter a numeric value in preferences, you have to press enter before closing the window or it won't stick. hope the dev keeps on developing skreenics because the alternatives are not much and not better. to complement skreenics, i suggest subsmarine (subtitle downloader) and dunex (movie poster and synopsis sheet maker) for those who prefer to maintain your movie collection portable and organized by your own folder structure (essentially, for those who are not big fans of media centers like plex or boxee). subsmarine http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/37305/subsmarine dunex http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26450

This is a GREAT start! The application works as advertised and quickly scanned my files. The results are just like the corresponding Windows applications WITHOUT the annoying watermark. And you can't beat the price! Many thanks to the developer. Suggestions for future updates: additional info in the header such as video duration, CoDec, framerate, etc. Either allow input of info by user or have the program get it from the files automagically. Preferences could be used to control what gets included in the result.
