Pleasant3D is a viewer for STL and GCode files. It's also possible to do basic editing on STL files (e.g., resize and move the object).

Use this app to prepare STL files for printing on a MakerBot, RepRap, or other 3D printer.

Although Pleasant3D also opens and visualize GCode files, it does not convert STL files into GCode!
What's New
Version 2.3.1:
  • Integrated a lot of changes from Cyril Chapellier's hackable-devices/Pleasant3D fork:
    • Refactor the GCode parser to support a wider array of GCode generators, in particular Slic3r
    • Add statistics to gCode View
    • French localization
    • Support for dual extrusions
    • Several more fixes and enhancements
  • There's currently a problem with the QuickLook plugins for GCode and STL files (at least) on OS X 10.9.
This version implements better error checking in the QuickLook plugins and falls back to displaying the standard document icon if the QuickLook generation fails. That way quicklookd doesn't crash anymore in case of problems.
I'm currently working on a fix of the problem. (Any Mac OpenGL off-screen experts out there? Any help is highly appreciated!)
  • The experimental slice-and-dice window is now only available if the "Enable experimental slicer/G-Code generator support" is enabled in the application's preferences. It's off by default. Pleasant3D works as a pure STL/Gcode viewer/inspector application in this case (like it was before the introduction of the slicer tool in version 2.0).
  • To Whom It May Concern: Pleasant3D's memory management was changed from deprecated GarbageCollection to "Automatic Reference Counting" (ARC)

A handy little app for viewing STL files. The standard view presents the object in light grey with little shading or contrast, so it's difficult to see features. Fortunately, there's an option to display the object as a wireframe. A Quicklook plugin is included, which is a nice touch, but suffers from the same problem as the standard view in the app.
