VisualHub you say? It got my attention and could not wait to give it a try. Bummer ... I do not want to go into details here but this is just plain not usable in ANY way. It gave me more errors then any other program I tried ever on my iMac with OSX10.6.1 installed. Almost nothing worked like it was working with VHUB. If the developer is using the old source he surely totally messed it up in a bad manner. This is a joke right? Come on, this tool doesn't even comes close to "becoming" a converter. It is bad - unbelievable B A D. Handbrake is also free AND it works. Period

Utter crap that mostly does not work. Handbrake is much better imo. And if you have some spare cash, buy iFmpeg.

This app is such garbage. The move from freeware to paid app on the crAPP Store, just seems like a lame grab at some money from unsuspecting dummies. Do not get this app. Instead, go find an unofficial download for VisualHub 1.34.1, use the Lion Updater, and you'll be set. You could also try VideoMonkey, or Handbrake, but stay away from ReduxEncoder!!

A full version number upgrade and they don't even explain what's changed? Clearly this is just an effort to get a little cash out of the halfassed effort these devs put in over the past 3 years that yielded exactly diddly squat.

supposed to be free forever, abandoned for over a year, and then dumped on the app store what i presume is just version 1.2.6 repackaged as version 2 .....of course there is no way of being sure because you cannot try without buying, no thanks

And the world still waits for a successor to VisualHub... I doubt anyone would have believed the wait would have been so long and painful... Kind of like the Great Pumpkin, I've got my doubts that we're ever going to SEE this mythical successor arrive...

I realize this is beta, but i never had much luck getting Visual Hub to do what it said it would, and it's the same with this. Has potential so i hope its troubles get worked out.

Love it. I only do one thing with it though. Convert divx/xvid avis to play on my iphone. I can cue up a whole directory of files and just let it do it's thing :) Ugly app icon though. It lacks any form of padding, and is just too large to fit in with the other icons on the dock. Not very elegant at all. The interface is almost perfect. There's just a few items that need a little more polishing; The "save to" input widget needs to be separated from the "Edit" button. The progress indicator seems a little bit misaligned. The start button is a bit fuzzy. Up/Downscaling issue?
